Good stuff. This could be a path to wider recognition for man who has done some of the best scores bad films have had in recent times. That is, if Constantine works - and there's always a chance it won't.

I have no idea if this will be any good. Went to imdb.com and added him as the composer since no one had been named yet there.

I'm with you, Timmer... Constantine should be played by a Brit, as he was originally conceived. And he should be really cranky...

Uh, Mike -- HELLO? Did you not see the brilliance in Keanu's performance in the masterpiece that was Bram Stoker's Dracula? Did you not stare in awe at the magnificent accent Mr Reeves used for his character? Why, Sir Olivier couldn't have done it better himself.

Before one passes judgement on the casting of this film, perhaps one shall see it first. Afterall, Mr Reeves DID star in Hardball. . .Hardball, Mike. . .Hardball.

^ Cranky. Now all you need to be is a Brit.

This movie is going to bite. Hard.

Reeves is very wrong for this character, he should be world weary, cynical, manipulative, and a bit of a bastard. I just can't see Reeves getting that across.

    Oh Well.

Yeah a Brit actor would be far better (a wirling Dervish would be better than Reeves ) but I also think a great casting choice would have been James Marsters aka 'Spike' from Buffy The Vampire Slayer who does such a good Brit accent that I didn't even know he was American until I saw him in an interview, it wouldn't even be a stretch from his Buffy character which just like Constantine wears a long coat, 'Sting' blond haircut, smokes cigarettes and fights demonic forces.

Constantine would make a better TV series than a film, but then, look what happened to a little known film called "Buffy The Vampire Slayer"?!

A slight differenace - the Buffy movie was little known and bad cause Whedon's original script was not used and re-written by two guys. they had nothing to do with the series, but because of that, they are in the end credits of the show anyway.

And Whedon makes refernaces to the original script in the show from time to time - like Buffy saying she burend dow nthe school gymnasium (in the pilot) cause it was full of vampi ... ;-) Something that didn't happen in the movie. Flutie looks at her funny.

Yes, please hollywood, give James Marsters more work.

James Marsters would be great... I would also like to see Jonny Lee Miller playing this part. I think he could effectively portray the f*ck the establishment attitude that John Constantine should have. And when it comes time to adapt the classic story where Constantine sells his soul to the devil and the devil comes to collect, they could hire Carlyle to play the devil.

We can take some consolation that they hired a good actress for the film. Rachel Weisz = A nice tin o' bisquits?
