Well I know some people have this score already but as Miramax is FINALLY releasing the film this month, Sony Classical has decided to put the CD out here as well.

    Due on 8/24/04.

Here's the link to the info:

Soundtrack actually got its Australian release about a year ago, but the film is still unreleased (I gave up and saw it on DVD six months ago). Rumors are it will hit cinemas anytime now...

And what a wonderful piece of cinema it is !
Really looking forward to 'House Of Flying Daggers'.
Just saw 'Infernal Affairs' a few weeks ago.
    Another gem.
Asian cinema is kicking Hollywood's a**.

Check out IA 2 and 3. If you enjoyed the first one, you'll love the sequels. It's the Hong Kong equivalent of the Godfather trilogy (except the 3rd one doesn't blow), in my opinion.

Also, at yesasia they have the entire trilogy of scores for under $20! The music of those films is amazing.

I know they exist, but i'm a bit sceptic to see them, because i felt the movie didn't need a sequel(s).

Any other CD suggestions at yesasia that I should add to my shopping cart?

Tan Dun's HERO is interesting... But it uses a couple of ideas and repeats them ad nauseum. This is the kind of score that plays through the action, simply repeating the same few bars over and over and over. A bit of a disappointment after the meaty opening track.

Don't think of the films as sequels, think of them as a continuation of the same story. The second is a masterfully crafted PREQUEL that shows you all the events that lead up to the first film and the third film, while difficult to follow sometimes, jumps from the aftermath of the first film and it also fills in the missing hours of the first film.

Who ever wrote these films really knew how to craft a "labrythian" plot that never ceases to amaze the viewer. I highly recommend those sequels.

Natural City! It's a Korean sci fi film along the lines of Blade Runner 9story wise, not musically speaking).

I have also heard that House of Flying Daggers is quite good, but I haven't heard it yet.

I'm trying to buy the Infernal Affairs trilogy CDs but yesasia has apparently sold out of them. Does anyone know where else I could buy them?

    Thanks,
    Mark.
