I found an interview on the Turner channel website.

    Turner Classic Movies

    quote:
TCM: What is your next film project?

A-14: "The Game of Their Lives," with the same director and writer as "Rudy" [David Anspaugh & Angelo Pizzo, respectively].

On the NPR website, they a couple of good segments that have to do with Jerry and his death.

Thanks for this info. I read them and noted some things he said there that were kind of interesting when he spoke of Lonely are the Brave. That was his first big film. No doubt of that. What was kind of curious was he said it was the first film with a major studio and major actor. Interesting.

Black Patch-1957-starred George Montgomery and Leo Gordon-so so western-lower budget, film by Montgomery, but not too bad, B-western but really not bad

    City of Fear-1959-never seen this

Face of a Fugitive-Allied Artists studio-B western like many with Fred MacMurray back then-1959-not too bad a story in it-fairly good B western

Studs Lonigan-1960-MGM-with Jack Nicholson in supporting role and Dick Foran(star of 30s and 40s making a comeback in films during this period). So-so juvenile type film set in 1920s.

Definitely not major films, so hes right on that, major stars though in some of them. Although Jack Nicholson not known yet. George Montgomery and Fred MacMurray both fairly well known stars.

    BEst, J.

Just FYI, you can get a sure-to-be below-stellar-quality DVD version of Studs Lonigan, in a 4-pack called Classic Jack. All public domain prints, but still---if you've wanted to see it, get it.

An hour long 1998 interview (and musics) on an NPR program called "Morning Becomes Eclectic":

I have many interviews on cassette that he did on radio and TV over the years and a great one done in 1986 on TV where he is talking about Poltergeist II and Black Patch, his first film with George Montgomery. I have some clips from the film in there too. Very interesting.
