What totally stinks here is that Thomas Newman was blantantly overlooked for his haunting score to "Angels in America" and that once again Michael Giacchino was neglected for his outstanding work on "Alias." Damn shame...or is it a sham...probably both. (again)James

Damn shame...or is it a sham...probably both. (again)Yeah, that was the first thing I thought too. Bruce Broughton's got seven Emmys already; I'm sure he wouldn't have minded stepping aside (not a slam - I like Broughton's work). I don't see how they could have heard Thomas Newman's work on it and thought "Oh this doesn't deserve a shot"...

With a history of awards to things like Lonesome Dove, I'd really hoped that Thomas Newman would pick up not only for Best Score but for Best Main Title. Oh well, hopefully he doesn't care.
