"The Stepford Wives" opens tomorrow and so far no word on a CD of the score by David Arnold. :-(

I did see that according to imdb, David Mansfield did some "additional music" along with Dana Glover.

Dana Glover's credits are rather interesting. A lot of "uncredited" credits along with music for "Big Fish," "Batman," and "Thirteen Ghosts," etc. Is this person for real or what? I don't seem to ever recall hearing of them before.

P.S. I've heard the score is rather Danny Elfman-like in one review.

The Danny Elfman-like review would make sense, seeings as Tim Burton was originally going to direct this.

Never heard of Dana Glover, but perhaps because Paramount doesn't even want to release STEPFORD WIVES the FILM, I can't see them releasing the SCORE!

Surprisingly enough, I have heard of Dana Glover. She worked on Shrek and sang the song It Is You (I Have Loved) which uses the theme from Shrek. She was on another soundtrack I think but can't remember what it was.

That's a bizarre mish-mash of credits. George Oldziey did the music for both Wing Commander III and VI. And The Fat Man did Wing Commander I and II. Doesn't make sense that person would be credited for those, or the Ultima scores.

Dana Glover is a singer and I believe a vocalist. Her songs have appeared in many films including Shrek and Laws of Attraction. She has a beautiful voice and is quite easy on the eyes.

I'm absolutely curious to know exactly what material she contributed to such scores as Hellraiser, Nightbreed, and Big Fish.

Saw the movie today. Not nearly as bad as I had been led to believe. The theatre was pretty full for a 2:00 show and the audience laughed a lot and even applauded at the end.

As for the score, it was nice to hear a romantic and fun orchestral score from David Arnold. He used his usual orchestrator/conductor: Nicholas Dodd and I believe recorded the score in New York.

There was an additional score credit, but it was for Joel McNeely. My guess is that McNeely was brought in to rescore some of the last minute changes that the film went through in post production.

As for the imdb credit to David Mansfield, it was for one track called "Claire's Reel."

Dana Glover? Don't have a clue unless she did vocals in the score. There was a "Danny Elfman-like" female choir going on at times. I wouldn't say the whole score sounded like him though. Maybe just that one aspect.

It'll be a shame if no one releases a CD of it though. It would have made a nice 30-40 minute recording.

Well, my parents rented this so tonight I checked out the main titles to hear the music because I remember it being mentioned online. This is without a doubt the best score of the year...David Arnold's theme is absolutely gorgeous, and in fact, one of the finest themes to come from a composer in recent years. I can't even describe it, the "Stepford waltz" is a lot like Shaiman's "Addams Family" scores and Elfman's "Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Scrooged," and like those scores, the music is just uniquely beautiful. I've always thought of David Arnold's work as purely action/sci-fi and 'triumphant', and never would've dreamed of hearing the "Stepford waltz" coming from his pen. Who knew he had this in him? It's an immeasurable shame that I can't have this music on CD, I hope a promo or something comes along.
