Just saw this very unwatchable movie and the score.. wow.. what a direct rip off of other scores. The main theme for starship troopers 2 is a direct rip off of Zimmers Backdraft.

Now wait just a minute there! I just so happen to like Hans Zimmer's Backdraft theme.

This was on TV and I could only stand about 10 minutes. This was a terrible film. However, I greatly enjoyed what I heard of Stromberg and Morgan's score. The action music was absolutely riveting, and I recall one quieter cue having sort of an etheral use of bells. It was refreshing and old fashioned. I'll definately be buying the CD and I can't wait to hear the rest. I don't remember hearing Zimmer's "Backdraft" in there though.

But it did not need to be in a Starship Troopers movie.Yes, the main hero theme is just like the theme from Backdraft. You probably just did not catch it intime to see the opening credits.

While the movie was lame, I thought the main themes and action music were great. I hope both composers get to score more movies based on their original music.

Maestros John Morgan and William Stromberg wrote some really exciting music for this movie. Once you get past the FedNet theme, there's a lot of great music reminiscent of Bernard Herrmann and Max Steiner. The album is a whole lot of fun!

I agree with BMikeJ. In fact, I thought some of the music sounded a little "Korngoldian."
