THE LORD OF THE RINGS SYMPHONY
Canadian Television Premiere
Whether in its six-volume form or its extraordinary transposition to the
screen by Peter Jackson, The Lord of the Rings is a story that has delighted
people of all ages for more than 50 years. And now the magic of the tale has
been adapted for the stage in musical form by Canadian composer Howard Shore,
who was awarded three Oscars for his work on the films. The Lord of the Rings
Symphony, produced in association with Bravo!, is a six-movement orchestral
piece with over 200 musicians and singers, accompanied by superb projections
of set designers' illustrations created for the filming of the trilogy.
