Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I already picked it up yesterday, but so far I've only listened to Double Trouble, which I already knew more or less from the trailer.

Won't listen to the rest before I've seen the movie...which starts in 27 hours.

Regarding Double Trouble: I'm sorry, but I hate that tune more than life itself. I'm profoundly annoyed by the prissiness of those rolled British-English r's. I additionally loathe the obligatory inclusion of that line from Macbeth ("something wicked this way comes").

Oh and uh, I almost forgot: I share Ned Rorem's antipathy to boy choruses.

Of course you realize all the lyrics in "Double Trouble" come from Macbeth. Very fitting, since they're all lines spoken by the witches. I do have to wonder though whether magic folk would really take something from Muggle literature and use it in a song like that, but perhaps Shakespeare's on a different level. He could even have been a warlock...Macbeth is a cursed play, right?

Considering how wonderfully JKR usually incorporates "real history" into her magical world, I'm sure she would find a place for Shakespeare.

After all, some evil wizard from Grindlewald seems to be the real cause for WW2.

    Back to the classics baby!!!

    Ben-Hur (Rosza)
    Spartacus (North)

Alex North has gotten me into some of the older and epic scores of yesteryear. After listening to his score for 2001, I was hooked! It was surprising as North's music never really appealed to me before 2001 finally got a full listen. Truly fascinating and amazing score (its depth and precision recording by Goldsmith are astounding), but the classical music in the film is just a glass slipper kind of fit. Too bad Kubrick handled it the way he did, though. There is something very unique about his style...Goldsmith's admiration of him is very evident in his writing

Ben Hur is one I promised myself a long time ago, and now is as good as time as any with 2001 and soon Spartacus getting some exposure.

Grrr... the thought of yet another Kilar English language score not seeing the light rankles me.

I'm guessing it's "Batman: The Animated Series" selections. If so, then that's a disc that almost everybody on this board would want. Justin, do tell us more about it.
