Well it's too early here for me to see how long the CD is, but it looks lengthy.

    Here's the link:

Now what would be really great is if Varese would pick up Pitch Black and release it in a non-promo manner (without the additional Bride of Chucky tracks).

Anybody know if Revell covered the Dark Fury animated prequel coming June 11th?

What is the approach to this score? Is it a straight forward orchestral score or is it led by alot of sampled percussion?

Widescreen, why would that be great? That album release is just fine the way it is.

Well...I hope Revell puts forth a solid score...the final preview has given my a high hopes for at least a decent sci-fi romp!

I actually liked Pitch Black...though I would like to see that work expanded and moved away from synth. Not going to happen me thinks.

BMikeJ, to answer your question: I'm not really fond of the movie Bride of Chucky. If I'm going to buy a soundtrack, I have to see the movie it's in first and then decide if I want the score. Unfortunately, in the case of the promo, 20 bucks seemed a lot to me to spend on only half a CD. It just wasn't practical to me.

Now, it may not be as practical to release the one half of it in conjunction with The Chronicles of Riddick- but take a look at Universal's repackaging of Pitch Black. They'll re-release on DVD on June 1st as The Chronicles of Riddick: Pitch Black. Just as unnecessary is the repackaging of The Bourne Identity, released in time to buy before seeing the Bourne Supremacy in theatres.

Widescreen, there's like 55 minutes of Pitch Black and the rest is Bride Of Chucky. If you don't like the remaining Chucky cues, just program them out. We do have that option.

I know Pitch Black is prdominant on that 55 minutes, but 20 bucks for that and something else I don't care for still doesn't seem like a good idea. If it were 15... maybe.

I've got no problem with the way Pitch Black was formerly released. It wouldn't have been picked up otherwise. LaLa wasn't around or I'm sure they would have done it, and it didn't look like Varese was gonna do it at the time and definitely doesn't seem like a score they'd go BACK and do.

So, all in all, not sure why you're complainin' Chris. The important thing is that the music was released and available for purchase. If you paid $20 bucks for it (knowing that Bride of Chucky was on the same disc), you must've thought it was worth it.

And if that doesn't satisfy you (like me), there's the alternate 2CD version. Shhh ... it's - unofficial...

Jeron, old friend, it wasn't so much complaining so much as hoping I could just get Pitch Black and not have to have it coupled with another score I could care less about. When it comes to buying these things, I have to be fairly judicious, it comes with the territory when you have evaluate all these scores I buy versus using that money for things just as important.

And you want to hear something funny- for all the scores I have, I really don't have a single bootleg.

I'm sure we could find at least one bootleg in your collection... You just may not know it's a bootleg.
Now, what I'm not clear on here, is if you've already spent the $20 on Pitch Black, why would you want to spend more money to buy it again when you could just make a CDR of the music from Pitch Black you already have (55 minutes worth, an album on its own)?

I think I mistakenly left you with the impression that I already have the Pitch Black/Bride of Chucky CD, when I don't. That's why the protest: it'd be great to get it, have the continuity with Chronicles of Riddick, but then Bride of Chucky gets in the way.

The only way I'm going to buy that CD if if: A.) that's the only option, which it looks like
and B.) if the price is lowered.

I'll be waiting quite awhile- I can make do with Chronicles of Riddick- assuming its worth it.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. I would check on eBay for this title. I have seen them go for less than $20.
