Well I was in hysterics until I read the post after it that made me think for a moment that it actually might have been serious.

Interesting, I actually contemplated whether it was a joke or not, but didn't come to a conclusion at the time. So I could see ESB as overreacting, but I'd be a hypocrite, because I honestly couldn't tell (I also have not heard Something's Gotta Give).

Horrible score. Hell, the movie was bad, but the score was the WORST. I can't believe you guys enjoy this tripe. Wholeheartedly uninspiring in my mind. I went home and turned on my snowed-out tv screen to barrage my mind with noise in order to get rid of anything this crap might have left over for me. Utterly horrible, and it didn't fit the film at ALL.

Yikes. Touche. Remember - if we all thought exactly like you, there'd be no point having us around.

    A valid point.

(as an aside, the score DID make me yearn for all the new music coming out this summer!)

I saw this film last night and am afraid to say I couldn't wait for it to end - it was too loud and way too long (like most films these days that don't know when to stop).
There was a theme (when you could hear the music) that reminded me of the "Grail" theme in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade".

There's no such thing as too loud! Well there is... it's when your ears start bleeding!

Anyway, I saw this film last night and absolutely loved the score. The movie was alright, I was hoping it would be as good as The Mummy films (not including The Scorpion King, that's not a mummy film, that's a piece of... well I wont get into that) Anyway, I liked the film, although the dialogue was terrible in some scenes, I thought it was a fun movie to watch with good sound and a great score.

An awful film, full of holes you could drive a carriage and six horses through. In addition to all the other logical and physics issues, let me add this one:

If you are going to try and trap and kill a werewolf, why would you arm your men with regular bullets?

Every man would be armed with silver bullets in their rifles/muskets.

Even if they couldn't make their own, why bother with a gun if you have no silver bullets?

Why wouldn't you just get silver plated knives or silver tipped crossbows or arrows?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you have a plot that requires your audience to be dumb or “check their brain at the door”, you will get exactly that. A movie so poorly thought out that only the most forgiving or ignorant audience can like.

I assure you - I am forgiving on this one, not ignorant. I feel like all the people a few years back that insisted to me that Starship Troopers deserved to be a guilty pleasure.

Oh, Starship Troopers wasn't that bad, but jsut imagine if they had made a few simple edits and rejected Basil - we might be singing a whole other story.

Damn, I didn't win that contest at soundtrack.net

Rats, me neither. (And I worked so hard for that contest prize!) That was one score I wanted for free.

Of course, there are many others I'd like for free as well should anyone else feel inclined to send me them???

Oh, it's pretty awful too, especially if you read the book the film was "based" on. It doesn't have the gaping holes that Van Helsing does, but it's heavy handed and drives it's "message" home with a nice, subtle sledgehammer.

I caught this flick with meinen Vater. While my inner 14 year old gobbled this film up as quick as a werewolf, I do fear that I killed a few brain cells in the process, despite leaving my grey matter at the door. But my dad really got a kick out of it, saying it was like watching all the monsters he'd grown up watching all in the same movie--and without Abbot and Costello. To be honest, it was worth it all for that.

Hearing Alan Silvestri's score was like watching a circus strongman holding a weight for two straight hours, but the most impressive part wasn't the length that he could keep it up but that even though it was so constantly bombastic, he still managed to save the best for last and raise the weight above his head, giving the score a huge, romantic send-off.

So, let me share my adventure with getting the score. I went to Circuit City, and they didn't have it and they also didn't have anyone around to help me. Then, I go to Worst Buy, and they didn't have it but a nice lady helped me. She said she checked yesterday and that the soundtrack doesn't come out until June 2nd. Then she said that it was coming out mid way through June. So, I have to wait to order it now.
