Okay, first off - I love that piece.

But what I wanted to ask was, can anyone link to a sound clip? Prefferably a relatively fast paced one with a band and not a synthasizer?

I had hard time find one via google.
Believe it or not, I was talking to someone who says he has never heard it! Maybe he doesn't recognize the name.

I wasn't sure if this section, or Classical was the right one to post it in.

    Here's an interesting little version:

Scroll down to the track listing and select Colonel Bogey

Justin, my favorite version can be found on a compilation album called "The Longest Day: Music From The Classic War Films" -- as you know, this piece is the theme from Bridge on the River Kwai. It's performed by a sizable orchestra and is as fast paced and lively as I've ever heard it. It's a Silva Screen disc, so I'm wondering if the Prague Phil is performing? I don't have the disc in front of me. Maybe someone else has the answer.

Justin many younger folks do not know the song. I am amazed at how many things people 25 and down do not know or have never heard of. Many of them are not very observant, but many are self-absorbed. I run into them all the time. LOL. They dont even remember things of great importance from 10 years ago.

A guy at work hums all these great songs like this. Everyone he hums I recognize-West Side Story overture, music from Victory at Sea, Colonel Bogey march, and many others. Secret Love from Calamity Jane, etc. It seems every song he hums I recognize. LOL>

    See ya, J.

Very helpful and kind everyone. Don't forget it was in Spaceballs too. And John Morris did a grand version there. IF only it had just kept going.

There are many versions of this available...try the one that made it famous on the soundtrack for "The Bridge Over the River Kwai."

There is probably a really cheap reissue featuring the NY Phil and Leonard Bernstein available on a Sony classical disc. American versions tend to sound crisper, British versions tend to have a more dignified, slower tempo.

    I have the Lenny recording.

I love the recording made by John Williams and the Boston Pops Orchestra on the "I Love a Parade" CD from Sony Classical. It even has a whistling chorus like in the movie Bridge on the River Kwai.
