La-La Land Records presents the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to the romantic-comedy, LAWS OF ATTRACTION, starring Pierce Brosnan (DIE ANOTHER DAY, GOLDENEYE, THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR) and Julianne Moore (THE HOURS, BOOGIE NIGHTS, NINE MONTHS). The film opens April 30, from New Line Cinema. This charming orchestral score, brilliantly performed by the London Metropolitan Orchestra, is by Edward Shearmur, (THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO, JOHNNY ENGLISH, MISS CONGENIALITY, both CHARLIE’S ANGELS blockbusters, and the upcoming summer adventure SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW). Mr. Shearmur’s beautiful, Gershwin-esque, Celtic-tinged score captures all the heart, whimsy and excitement of this delightful, star-studded romantic comedy. Also features the pop ballad "Maybe" performed by Dana Glover (her songs have been featured in SHREK and THE WEDDING PLANNER) and the traditional Irish jig "When Sick, is it Tea You Want" performed by Temple House. CD Booklet features exclusive liner notes.SOUND BITES HAVE BEEN POSTED.

Terror Tract is an awsome score. Glad it's finally getting a release it so deserves.
That's intersting about the Punisher. I thought the score was going to be mostly synth.Jeff

No, not at all. It's a very robust melodic score with great themes. My favorite track: "God's Gonna Sit this One Out."
I can't wait to put up clips to see what you guys think. I personally LOVE the score. It's easily the best Superhero score to come down the pike in a long time.

MV,How is Silotto's score? All I'm concerned with is if it's action scoring worth listening to. I plan on seeing the movie first, anyway, but I was curious.

Please don't tell me The Punisher was recorded in Bulgaria though. Tell me Seattle, Prague or Moscow, but not Sofia!
Siliotto has the habit of recording most of his scores with the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra, and like most composers who record in the Bulgarian National Radio's Studio 1, his scores sound like s**t, contrary to what is advertised on the BSO's official website: http://www.sif309.com/04_studio.html

MV Gerhard,I see you guys also mention Ed Shearmur's association with Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow (of course, embedded in notes for Laws of Attraction)- if you guys ever announce plans to release that score, you have my undivided attention.

Wish we could, but I hear that a Major label has picked it up.
BTW, the Punisher is a BLAST! It's a modern day Spaghetti Western without any of the new age "action techniques (ie wire fu). Just good old fashioned 70's style characterization and 80's action. And Carlo's score plays a MAJOR role in the film. Hensleigh, a huge Leone/Morricone fan wanted that same feel with this movie and he and Carlo acheived it. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did.

MV, thanks for the tips on Punisher and Sky Captain. Are you at liberty to name any summer movies your company may be releasing? I understand it's very early on, and I appreciate the info thus far.

There is a main theme that is very good and it definitely has a 'spaghetti' feel to it. Carlo Siliotto is a brave choice on this kind of film but it's a brilliant one. Now, they probably didn't use the same test audience as those cowards behind the creation of that Troy flick...

Later this summer we will have Terror Tract (may) and Big Empty (June/July) coming out followed by a 2 cd set of Headhunter and Headhunter: Redemption, music by Richard Jacques (July/August).
Of course, some more surprises ahead. . .both new and older scores.

Sounds like a lot of really good releases. I'm really looking forward to the Headhunter set. Everything I've heard from the first game is amazing. Keep up the good work!

Ironically it was your review that got me interested in the project! Redemption, while not orchestral like the first, is equally impressive!

After 22 seconds it froze and continued to buffer, so I gave up, but I can't quite see what all the shabaz was about. Maybe I just need to hear more, but with only one cue.....

On the one hand, everyone cries for score releases to be complete, complete, complete. On the other hand, some people can dismiss a complete score after 22 seconds.... phew!
