Artwork has been posted for Varese's "budget" re-issues of "Thomas Crown Affair" & "The Maginificent Seven."

I find their "budget" price ridiculous. I was thinking they'd list at $11.99 or something. The list is $15.99 with their online offer of $14.99. That's still too high in my opinion.

Also...I think the art on "Thomas Crown Affair," while keeping more in line with the DVD artwork, is TERRIBLE to say the least. Is that the best anyone could do????

Umm, Varese, a $15.98 list is not a "reduced" or "budget" price.

What type of bullcrap is this? We can take the hyped up announcements with a laugh, but it's flat out lying when they say stuff like "reduced price" and then slap $16 on it. I suppose they were comparing the pricing to Jerry Goldsmith at Fox.

I'm not sure where you see the lie. Their regular releases (like TWISTED) sell for $16.98 on their site. These titles sell for $14.98. That's a reduced price.

Well, that's true, they could sell it for $16.97 and call it a "reduced price."

My problem is that the press releases were hyping "reduced price" and then they release these titles for $2 off? I'm not impressed. I was expecting, like James, something more like $12.

I agree, $12 is a REAL reduced price. But since Varese engages in hyperbole on nearly every announcement, you have to "believe it when you see (or hear) it."

The funny thing is... if Varese had not mentioned "REDUCED PRICE" or whatever in their intial "press" releases, I would probably be pleasantly surprised today to see these albums listed on the website for $2 off the typical album price.

Two new vocals by Nathan Lane have been mixed into the main title and Calvera's theme.
