It is with deep regret that I am announcing to all my friends here that I have ceased to collect soundtracks. In addition to that I will also be selling my music collection at eBay. This sale will include not only my soundtrack CDs and LPs, but my Pop, Rock, etc. CDs and LPs as well. I have also been selling many other things such as books, magazines, trading cards, comic book related materials and more. We have hit financial hard times and need to supplement our income by letting go of our treasures for the benefit of our children and their future. My user name at eBay is the same as here (Kimiakane) so please stop by from time to time over the next few months and see what is available. I have the "power seller" status there as everything we sell is in near-perfect condition to perfect condition and if it isn't, I say up front if it is in used condition. I take care and concern in following through with all aspects of the transaction to our mutual satisfaction.
I will miss many of you very deeply. As I am sure is no secret, I have been absent from this board increasingly over the last several months. I did this not because of indifference, but because I had bought almost no soundtracks over 2003 and none at all this year. It was painful to come here and not to be able to discuss the hobby when I was no longer actively participating in it. Maybe someday, things will reverse and I may start collecting again but that will probably be after my childrens' college years are finished.
If anyone wants to write and keep in touch, I will be pleased to maintain the friendships I have established here in this hobby. I just won't be able to discuss new soundtracks anymore...ha. Thank you for taking the time to read this and may your life be fulfilled with joys of all forms.
with love as always,
the former filmscore gal,
Galina

Sorry to hear that. :-(
I have so little and I would sooner die than sell my CDs. I would literally starve than part with them.
I hit hard financial times (with spuratic spurts of small amounts of cash here and there) and know how you feel. You have my heartfelt sympathies.

Kimi, I hope things economically improve for you soon. In the meantime, stick around and post with us. You don't have to be a big soundtrack buyer to enjoy learning about past, present and future filmscores.Warm regards,

I guess it's okay to pop in for some fun threads....as long as I can resist being sucked back in to that collecting disease!
Thanks all!

Kimiakane, my unsolicited advice to you is start making CDRs of everything. Or converting them to mp3s. You may want to listen to the music someday and it would be good to have it in some form. I extend my best wishes to your family and hope your fortunes turn in a favorable direction.

No need to give up the hobby completely if you "enjoyed" the music. Doesn't make sense.

Oh, I actually always put my music on cassette as soon as I bought them, and have been putting these in my computer for months. I simply must keep the music in me, I just have to let go of the collectibles themselves
unfortunately. Anyway, thank you for the advice, it's nice to know you all still look out for me! Please accept a big virtual hug from me to all my "big brothers" in filmscore land!
with love as always,
Galina

Any chance of getting a list from you (or I could just view the one on eBay), and possibly buying from you outside of eBay?

There is a complete list (including what is already up on eBay) available on my profile over at Filmtracks.com and I use the same user name there as I do here. I hope this is helpful.

Whoops, better late then never! Good luck, Gala, and do keep copies of your music. Especially of the Bruckner.

I hope don't go away if you cannot buy CDs, like me, the only CDs I buy are the John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith scores, with the ocassional James Horner here and there.Though I have to confess I haven't heard plenty of film music nor seen movies lately, I still enjoy coming here, and reading, and posting on older scores, and perhaps a new one that I might have seen the movie.
