I just read online that Howard Shore won the Golden Globe for BOTH song and score for Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

And they gave the award to best dramatic picture to this one. That's also ridiculous.

If one of these movies should have won an award for best picture it should have been the middle one. That once was the best of all three.

You're a very witty person, zimmerito. At least I hope you are.

The score absolutely deserves the award. And the song is very good too as well, even though I think Gollum's Song remains the best of the three.

Must add a thumbs up and congrats to Mr. Shore for his award. Seems like only yesterday that people were speculating as to who would be chosen to score The Lord Of The Rings, and now we have 3 for the ages.

While I do enjoy listening to The Last Samurai, it is still fairly one-dimensional (though Zimmer and crew can make one dimension sound pretty damn good!)

The Return of the King is simply a superior score, from its power, variety of themes and orchestrations, and sheer depth.

On the film front...how could anyone think that The Two Towers was the strongest of the trilogy??? While the extended edition certainly did improve it, I felt it was the most disjointed. Of course, I still rated it higher on my list last year than nearly all other films...but we're talking relative here.

If it makes you feel better, consider Return of the King getting these awards as an award for the entire series. I think most voters are approaching it this way.

My hat is off to Peter Jackson and team...well deserved. I hope more awards follow (maybe for Sean Astin as well) come next month.

Well it seems that the new victim from the moviemusic gang bashers is Howard Shore......
How the opinions go from 8 to 80,is beyond me,it seems there's no middle term...

    THAT'S NOT HEALTHY.......

Those "babes" would be Queen Latifah and Gwen Stafani of the rock group No Doubt.
