Not that I enjoy taking up space with a little non-topical debate, but--Where did it say these had to be "some of the greatest film scores ever written"?

Dylan's original "stipulation", if you want to think of it as such, was "as fine a selection of scores as you've ever encountered", which still seems pretty subjective, since everyone has different "encounters", and there are, after all 1000(!) titles needed to fill this list.

I don't think there should be any great reason to read into this post anything more serious than an excercise in reading and a diversion of "can we all work together to compile a listing of any soundtracks?" I grant that I hate lists, and yet the community participation on the whole seems to be energized by an original topic. The worst thing that could happen is to have multiple clones of this post (or type of posting) to appear again on this board (or others.) (i.e., "Now let's see if we can list 1000 animated movie scores....")

So, in other words, best not to be too judgemental if holding a person's knowledge and tastes against any scores that they have chosen to include. Chances are most of us are thinking of the same scores, but someone else has already had the opportunity to list it. The challenge is to add three more that haven't been previously listed.

That's right twin, but I haven't seen the film, and I thought it shared the name of the symphony. I also didn't read the above posts carefully enough. The post will be edited!

Sorry, forgot to put the numbers. Reizenstein's MUMMY would be 227. Still a bit short of 1000. Could five more people post so I can get down a load more titles I've got up my sleeve?

    228...

I assume the last item of that list was meant to be 228 and not 238... so:

    229. Till Human Voices Wake Us (Cornelius) - 2003
    230. Wonderland (Nyman) - 1999
    231. Pan Tadeusz (Kilar) - 1998

234 should actually be 233 - STAR TREK V is still in twice, at 14 and 95. And can we really accept McNeely's Shadow of the Empire (no. 165)? That ain't no movie!

Come on folks, some more of you still have to post in order to allow me to continue with my anal-retentive list!

Jaav, FINAL FANTASY was mentioned before, I'm afraid.

Philipp, I forgot about ALIEN too. I had a couple of things on my list before that, so...

    244 - PREDATOR (Alan Silvestri, 1987)

    245 - FOREVER AMBER (David Raksin, 1947)

    246 - CLEOPATRA (Alex North, 1963)

Dylan, the numbers are all out once more. I think we should be subtracting two, possibly three.
