Admit it. We all do it sometime. In the privacy of our room/car. I'm sure some of us even have their own baton

Which is your favourite piece of music to 'conduct'?

    Characteristics which usually help:

    1. Great opening, and great ending to the piece.
    2. Fast, energetic and loud.
    3. Lots of change in key.
    4. Lots of switching from one part of the orchestra to another.

    and of course...

    5. You know the piece off by heart.

For me, the number one cue that fits the bill is The Forest Battle (Concert Suite) from Return of the Jedi.

Well, for me it would be any fast paced track of John Williams, such as:
-Belly of the Steal Beast (Last Cruzade)
    -The Hunting (Lost world)
-Visitor in San Diego (Lost World)

And others i do not recall right now.

As for other composers,i would say:
    Cyrez Break-in-Silvestri-Eraser
    March Of The Lava-Silvestri-Volcano
    Total Recall Main Theme-Goldsmith-Total Recall
    Hard To Starboard-Horner-Titanic
    Riders Of Steel-Poledouris-Conan

    And many others,which i don't remember now,but i will in a couple of days...

    NP-Hong Kong-Jean Michel Jarre

I came across my favorite piece to air conduct tonight. It's the "Main Title" from Franz Waxman's Untamed. I wonder how many takes it took for such a magnificent performance at such a brisk tempo. Not many, I bet, especially with that amazing 20th Century Fox Orchestra.

The "Squid Death Finale" from PETER BENCHLEY'S THE BEAST by Don Davis. It's terrific aerobic for the entire body.
