Sean Connery said they weren't doing the film, but I don't trust that man!(My guess is, from what's I've read, it's got a greenlight, they're finishing up the script, Harrison Ford is ready to go ahead with it, Steven Spielberg is directing while George Lucas is producing and Frank Darabont is writing, and of course John Williams will score it, and it will be released during the summer of 2005—now, watch a bunch people write exactly what I just did over the numerous posts to come [j/k])

Come on.... that's a given that JW will score just about any Steven Speilberg film.

Williams also confirmed it himself recently, doesn't he start recording the score in October? That seems a little early, but perhaps I'm wrong about the date.

Well, he starts composing in October, but not the actual recording.

Recording will probably be in February or March of next year. I'll be very surprised if the recording sessions take place anywhere other than in LA.[Message edited by Jim Ware on 09-10-2007]

Why not with the LSO? Or somewhere else outside of LA?--Brian

Raiders was the only film of the IJ series to use the LSO.

I don't recall any Williams soundtrack recording (at least not of the last few decades) that was recorded outside the US except for a few LSO recordings (and I think one of the Potters was recorded by another London-based orchestra)And he generally doesn't seem fond of leaving the US these days... sadly.

Williams' 3 HP scores were recorded in London.COS was the only one to actually use the LSO.

They better hurry on this one, Ford and Connery will be in the wheelchairs soon. I hope this sequel will be better than most of what we are getting right now.J>

What? Connery isn't even in Indiana Jones and The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. It's Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, Ray Winstone, Cate Blanchett, John Hurt, and Shia LaBeouf. Go here if you need the film info: www.indianajones.com/

Sean Connery has retired from film making...that's why we haven't seen him any films the last few years. He said nothing will bring him out of retirement.

Of course he'll return for Never Say Never Again - This Time for Real.I prefer the (more accurate) original title: Indiana Jones and the Rickety Walker.

Swashbuckler, thats great. LOL> It might be interesting to see him come out of retirement for a sequel to Marnie where he continues to psychoanalyze Tippi in old age.Watched part of it on AMC. Still pretty effective. Then I made mistake of watching part of Frenzy. What a terrible film. Maybe the worse Hitchcock made next to Topaz, although I kind of like that one even though it has a TV film feel.

What’s the current project you’re working on?Well, I just actually put pen down on a viola concerto. And I will be doing a week for the New York Philharmonic here, and then I’ll be coming out to Columbus for one day and I’ll be looking forward to meeting the orchestra. I think they’ll be great. And then I’ll be home in California the first of October to start on the next Indiana Jones.
Are you just going to incorporate music from the earlier movies, or are you writing any new melodies?
I’ll be able to tell you in about two weeks.

If I'm looking foward to any score right now this is it!
So, in about a week Williams will tell us of his new approach?
I hope he can somehow go back to his old style.
