I think this score will surprise a lot of people - it's not at all like what you might expect.

    Thanks for the link Zimmerito.
Taken sounds like old Thelma-&-Louise Zimmer.
I like the 'action theme' in Spectres of the Fog & Idyll's End. But the rest sounds yucky.

The thin red line with oriental elements and very powerfull!
The sonority, the oriental ambience will be great!
    Real orchestra!
    Red warrior clip is amazing!
    Very promising!
Safe passage, red warrior,to know my enemy, the way of sowrd and idillys end seems to be amazing!

Sounds like Hans Zimmer's best effort in a while, maybe since The Thin Red Line (which, I think is his best score). The two most interesting pieces, for me, are "A Hard Teacher" and "Red Warrior". Easily, this score is one of the best of the year, if not the best; but, I love Zimmer music!

Man, did anyone notice the Japanese theme in Idyll's End? That certain put a smile on my face. Red Warrior seems full of that noble spirit. I'll probably love this CD as soon as I hear it in its entirety.

BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR !!!!!

LOL!!! I noticed the theme, I noticed! I keep playing these clips over and over; it's insane. It's like when that audio RA clip of the "Barbarian Horde" came out months befor Gladiator or the same with "Journey to the Line" way back when. I can't wait to have this CD!

Because up till then, I didn't expect an Asian theme... Don't ask me why, it just didn't occur to me. And I haven't heard a good Asian theme for a while now. It was refreshing to hear it. I hope that this signal a return to the Classic Zimmer that we've come to love and admire. I hope.

Oh!I understand now!I think the same.
A good asian theme like black rain or beyond rangoon. And this is a good asian theme(listen better in the third clip of the official movie site)
Listening the first 3 clips I expectred the worst, but now with this 11 clips I'm very happy.Seems the best new zimmer and the best old zimmer together.Like Tears of the sun that has the new style and the old zimmer's style.
In this case are 60 minuts composed and arranged by HZ :P
I heard at the moment,3 themes:Red warrior, safe passage and Idyll.
I can't wait for this cd or mp3 ehehe

So I am the only one who thinks this score deserves a TWO STAR out of FIVE?

    It's so... BORING!
    Zimmer is doing the Horner!
    Synths and Taiko Drums? *blergh*

    I haven't heard it yet... And I think it'll deserve a 4/5...

Maybe you should listen to it completely before you decide? Instead of getting "pissed off"(?) over other's comment and measely 30sec clips?

    PS...

Hans Zimmer as Horner? WTF? Where did THAT come from.

    I listen full score.
Is very irregular...for example:the first track is one of the most beautifull zimmer works but all the action tracks are horrible(bad mixed and bad synth like drop zone)
    I don't understand zimmer irregularity.

This score sounds INCREDIBLE! From the little I heard, the action music sounds good to me, but I usually always love any score Hans Zimmer puts out (aside from Black Hawk Down). Do tell Zimmerito, how in the world did you get a copy?

well...a low quality of it is floating around in the newsgroups. I got it from there yesterday. It has definitly convinced me to buy it when it will be available. Score is good. Zimmer sound, with some asian influences. I think it's one of best recent effort by Zimmer. And it's a solo one, so it's nice to really hear his work. I do like collaboration, but sometime it's nice to hear what the guy is capable of. ;-) I'd give it a 4/5. Some pieces are just amazing, the first one is a good example.

    Regards,

I am listening to it... the whole CD.... got it last friday.
Europe.... (early distribution, then again... late distibution...)

    Lemme explain
"To do a Horner" = to repeat yourself
Hornering = repeating. I am making new Language Score lingo *grin*
    "Don't horner me!" = Don't copy/repeat after me!
    That is mine....
Nono... these are not just 30 second clips. The few people who know me (all European) know me as to well to just dismiss something from crappy 64 bit 30 sec. MP3's...

Anyone ,aside me, has noticed that action parts are bad mixed? and synth instruments are played wrong or unfinisehd?
In traks like 2,9 and 10?
    best tracks of score:1,5,6,7,8
it's a very very irregular score.
NP.Tears of the sun ..better than I think at the begining
