While compiling some new Christmas movie music albums, I stumbled again on the subject I thought about a long time ago. There is this mysterious song segment in the first HARRY POTTER soundtrack album, during the track "Christmas at Hogwarts", but the soundtrack album doesn't give any hint about the performers nor the writer of the lyrics. (I have even gone through the entire original book, but didn't find any hints if the lyrics could have been adapted from Rowling herself).

So, does anyone know about the writer of the lyrics for this song (I presume that Williams composed it) and about the vocalists?

Nevertheless, I find this song to be quite delightful and funny in Williams-terms; definitely not Home Alone.

All help appreciated.

It has been said (I think even by himself in an interview) that Williams thought there should be some kind of Christmas song in that scene when he was scoring the movie, and that he came up with the lyrics himself.

Where are all those Harry Potter / John Williams enthusiasts when we need them? (Not anything personal, Marian).

I say it once and for all, that John Williams can't count that all of his fans would be intelligent enough to understand that if the CD booklet doesn't include any information on a song, it must be written by Williams himself. Why can't this man give credit where credit is due - even to HIMSELF?

How's this for mysterious: Is the song in the new Potter trailer original Williams material or not? I say yes.
