The movie was alright, kinda boring in all honesty (fantastic acting though). Anyway, the score is definitely something a Young fan should pick up.

Basically, it has a very New Orleans kind of atmosphere. There are some good action cues reminiscent of 'Murder at 1600'. Unfortunately, there wasn't much I could call fantastic, though.

The iTunes store has 30 second previews of every track for those that want a listen.

It's in the New Release section of Soundtracks.

Get iTunes for PC at www.itunes.com

Better how? I just saw the film today and thought the score worked perfectly in the film. Ya know, not EVERYTHING has to be on the same scope and level as a work like "Hellraiser" to be a good score.

I'm just thankful Christopher Young is getting good assignments and that not everything he does is in the horror/sci-fi realm.

Hmm...I'm pretty sure Brian was referring to Spicy's question about the soundtrack selection at iTunes...

If that's the case...my bad. But it might have helped if he had included the text to which he was responding in order for it to be clear.

Anyone check the tracktitles on this CD at the Varese site?

Christopher Young is back to his old tricks. One of the tracks is called "The Divine Komeda."

Yes, Chris really seems to enjoy the scores of other composers. He also talks in interviews about other scores and composers. I remember a picture in one of an issue of Muisic from the Movies, where Chris stands in front of a huge shelf of CDs. He seems to be a real soundtrack collector.

Southall gives it one star more than me, which is certainly understandable, as it's an effective score by a more-than-accomplished composer, but to my ears this score is almost back-to-back "been there before."

However, I'm still a huge fan of Young, and Runaway Jury is still in my CD player for repeated listening.
