Just wondering if anyone can help me expound on their work in film.

I know GEORGE did songs and score for SHANGHAI SURPRISE and a song (score?) for TIME BANDITS.

PAUL did an entire album (score?) for GIVE MY REGARDS TO BROAD STREET. The title songs for SPIES LIKE US and VANILLA SKY.

    JOHN?

    RINGO? Any songs in CAVEMAN?

    I never saw A HARD DAY'S NIGHT.

Anything else you all can think of?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    P.S.
Anyone know who did those psychedelic photos of them individually with all the colors? I think Ringo is holding a bird in his.

    THANKS!!!!

Before you ask people to do research for you, why don't you do the obvious and rent the following movies/programs: A HARD DAY'S NIGHT, HELP!, YELLOW SUBMARINE, LET IT BE, and MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR. That should provide a good starting point for you.

    Firefox, howard L...

Were your posts intended to help me? I really appreciate them but they did not help me...not at all. "Don't flaunt it"? What does that mean? Is that some snide way of saying I should be ashamed of not having seen a certain film? What would posses you to type that AND ONLY THAT?

    Firefox,

What is it that would make you assume that I had not in fact planned to do the type of research that you mentioned? What would make you assume that I had not already rented some or all of those films the same day I posted my query? What would make you think that I was trying to make people do research FOR me?

Seriously, what would make you assume all of these things?

The internet is a tool. It is a tool for many things. Doing research has been superbly expedited because of the shear amount of information that it stores. Granted some of the info may be biased, wrong, outdated, superfluous, redundant or simply not useful. This is where the two of your posts lie: not useful.

Firefox I am going to use your words from another of your posts in an effort to explain WHY I posted here on MOVIEMUSIC.

"I know that there is much knowledge out there beyond my own, regardless of how intelligent I am. One reason I am smart is because I value other people's knowledge and try to learn from it."

    Admirable.

Allow me to take your quote to another level and apply it to myself:

One reason I am as smart as I think I am is because I value other people's knowledge and don't flaunt MY own knowledge. I try to learn from other people without alienating anyone or coming off as a "know-it-all" or for that matter a socially inept putz.

    In the future...please CONTRIBUTE.

    Thanks

Your post said you were "wondering if anyone can help me expound on their work in film."

"Expound" means "to set forth or state in detail. To explain."

How could you hope to do this if you didn't know even the basics about the Beatles in the movies? And somebody who hadn't seen A HARD DAYS NIGHT, the first and most important Beatles movie, probably the most important rock movie of all-time, just didn't seem like anybody who could expound about the topic.

Almost all of your questions seemed to show a total lack of knowledge about the group you wanted to expound upon (songs in CAVEMAN?), and that made me and probably Howard L and probably all the people who didn't bother to respond to your post feel that you were one of the least likely people in the world to be able to expound upon anything having to do with the Beatles.

Your post sounded less like a real inquiry into anything and more like you are trying to write a book report or something without doing any actual research...

Well what my post sounds like and what it is (to you) are obviously very different.

    For the cheap seats:

I posted a question because of a lack of knowledge in a certain area dealing with the career of a particular musical group. I stress "lack of knowledge".

Perhaps I should restate my post?

    ok...(ahem)...

"I was wondering if anyone can help me set forth or state or even explain on their work in film regardless of what you may think I am doing my research for or how ignorant you may think I am."

    Thanks

Oh and Firefox...you're still not contributing.

Ouch! Can't help out much, meegle. You've probably been able to get all the hard facts you need from other sources, but if you need a personal opinion, I'll rake my brains...

I'm raking my brains right now, and I do recall that I have, taped off the TV (Michael in hand), Paul McCartney's main titles for THE FAMILY WAY. I still remember how it goes - a kind of mock regal trumpet piece (celebrating a shotgun wedding, mibbe), which is quite like the jolly trumpety bits that George Martin did for The Beatles!

Not much, I know, but what do you expect from a real score geek? I mean, who are the beetles anyway?
