    Latest news, September 22-28, 2003:

    Portman to score new Wayne Wang film:
    Director Wayne Wang once again hires Rachel Portman to score the film version of best-selling children's novel Because Of Winn-Dixie.

    Trevor Rabin scores 'The Great Raid':
    Trevor Rabin has been hired to compose the original score for John Dahl's upcoming war epic The Great Raid.

    Plenty of Don Davis' score on 'Matrix: Revolutions' CD:
    The details concerning the upcoming soundtrack album release of The Matrix: Revolutions has been announced.

    'Brannigan' to get CD release:
    La-La Land Records today announced that they will release Dominic Frontiere's score for the John Wayne film Brannigan.

    Glass to score 'Taking Lives':
    Minimalist Philip Glass has been hired to score the upcoming Angelina Jolie thriller Taking Lives.

    Nicholas Pike wins Bernstein award:
    Nicholas Pike recently received the Elmer Bernstein Award for his score to Love Object at the Woodstock Film Festival.

    World premiere release of 'Captain Scarlet':
    Silva Screen Records will release a 79 minute album featuring Barry Gray's cult music for television series Captain Scarlet.

    Kamen speaks out about illness:
    Michael Kamen, one of the most popular film composers, has revealed that he suffers from multiple sclerosis.

    Morricone 75th Birthday Concert!:
    Ennio Morricone will make a rare UK concert appearance on 10th November at the Royal Albert Hall.

    TV score by Ottman on CD:
    John Ottman's score for the television feature Point Of Origin will be released on CD by La-La Land Records on 14th October.

    Horner's 'Radio' to be released by Hip-O:
    Portions of James Horner's score for the Cuba Gooding Jr comedy Radio will be included on the upcoming soundtrack album from Hip-O on 21st October.

    Master and Commander to be released by Decca:
    Decca Records will release the Master And Commander: The Far Side Of The World score album in November.

    Unreleased music on Poltergeist II CD:
    The upcoming 'deluxe edition' of Jerry Goldsmith's Poltergeist II to include seven minutes of music previously unreleased.

    Shore to receive Hollywood Award:
    Howard Shore will be among the honorees at the Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony in October.

    Film Music Spectacular!:
    One of the three "Classical Gala" performances planned by the Orchestra of Opera North is billed as a "Film Music Spectacular" and will be conducted by David Arnold.

    Dave Stewart scores 'Alfie' remake:
    Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame has been hired to compose the score for the remake of Alfie.

    'World at War' special edition:
    Silva Screen is producing a new recording of Carl Davis' score for the television series The World At War.
