I apologise if this has been mentioned here before, but the release date for Howard Shore's score is November 17th (in the UK at least. The US release will probably be a day later).

I don't think it's been mentioned before, at least I've been wondering about the release dates myself. Any info on what different kinds of editions they will do this time?

    1) CD
    2) DVD-A.

Rumours are floating around on DVDA boards that Warner is planning LOTR on that format. No info as to which of the three, if any, or all.

Yeah..."Only Death Would Break It" is a few tracks too early to be real.

Ok, since noone needs me to spell out whether they're fake or not, I won't. I hope these titles are correct. It sounds like quite a good album.

On the other hand I can't quite believe they'd get Annie Lennox to wrap her tongue around the phrase 'That which was lost'. (Still, Shirley Manson somehow made a chorus line of The World is Not Enough.)

As to the appearance of Only Death Would Break It, I don't know if that's too early - I figure it must be a reference to *****'s decision to go back to save ****** and his vision of the world as great garden. (After all, the first film opens with a narration that belongs to Treebeard in the books - so since when have they tied themselves to the books?)

Yeah, I was surprised when I suddenly saw Fangorn speak those lines when re-reading the book. But the "and only death would break it" quote is, as far as I remember, from when ***** makes up his mind to carry ***** up *****.

I have read that Jackson, Shore and team will be recording the score up until mid-October, so I doubt that enough of it is finished to be able to compile full track listings. Most of these titles here sound very probable though, since Shore takes most his LOTR titles from the book's chapter titles anyway. Bring on The Battle of Pellenor Fields!

So, is anyone else planning to make a homemade CD comp of their favorite LOTR tracks when the ROTK album hits the shelves?

Not really, I like to listen to the complete albums. I might consider it though if after the release of the complete scores, the original Journey to Weathertop cue remains unreleased.
