Yesterday I finally got my new car (a Renault Clio). I've been sharing one with my mum for the past 4 years, but she obviously gets priority since it's hers, so I was sort of tied down. Now I have my own set of wheels, and can zoom around in lovely, plush, airconditioned comfort. It also comes with a great sound system and a CD player (with the controls on the steering wheel
), so i get to throw away all my rickety cassette compilations and stock up with some great CDs in the glove compartment. The minuute I drove out of the showroom I put on this compilation which I had made the day before - it's basically tracks I never get tired of, along with some recent stuff I'm taking quite a liking too.
MRQ 001
01. Kill Bill - Trailer Music (Hotei Tomoyasu)
02. Austin Powers - Soul Bossa Nova (Quincy Jones)
03. Men in Black - Main Titles (Danny Elfman)
04. Plunkett & Macleane - Escape (Craig Armstrong)
05. The Simpsons - Main Titles Extended (Elfman)
06. Twister - Going Green (Mark Mancina)
07. X2 - Main Title (John Ottman)
08. Spiderman - Costume Montage (Elfman)
09. Evolution - In The Hall By The Pool (John Powell)
10. Army of Darkness - Building the Deathcoster (Joe LoDuca)
11. Psycho - Prelude (Herrmann)
12. Requiem for a Dream - Summer Overture (Clint Mansell)
13. Spy Kids - Spy Wedding (Los Lobos & Robert Rodriguez)
14. Children of Dune - Summon the Worms (Brian Tyler)
15. Signs - The hand of Fate Part 1 (JNH)
16. Air Force One - Welcome Aboard, Sir (Jerry Goldsmith)
17. Dinosaur - The Egg Travels (JNH)
18. The Beach - Mystical Waters (Angelo Badalamenti)
19. Hulk - Main Titles (Elfman)
20. Terminator 3 - The Terminator (Marco Beltrami & Brad Fiedel)
21. The Good, the Bad & the Ugly - The Ecstasy of Gold (Ennio Morricone)
22. Tears of the Sun - The Journey / Kopano Part 3 (Hans Zimmer)
23. The Two Towers - Forth Eorlingas (Howard Shore)
24. The Matrix Reloaded - Mona Lisa Overdrive (Don Davis + Juno Reactor)
25. The Empire Strikes Back - The Rebel Fleet & End Titles (John Williams)____________
When making this compilation I tried to make it the most fun compilation I've ever made - and one which non-score-lovers will appreciate. Lo and behold! - I ended up with a very Elfman-heavy CD....
P.S. I'm finally starting to see the fruit of those 5 tough years in medical school

A...a...a... CLIO!?!?!?!?!?
Renault can do good things, but a CLIO??? Yucky! You can do better than that.
Congrats on that new Renault. Hope you enjoy it! And your Elfman-heavy compilation.

Pistols? Nah: Cars.
Your CLIO. My Chrystler Fifth Avenue.
No, really. How is the Clio? I mean on the road. Nevermind the airconditioner. Which version/model did you get?

I really think my amazing piece of machinery has everybody beat... the 1989 Ford (Mazda) Probe
No A/C. No crap like power windows. Just 110hp of raw power.
I've been mulling over making a new compilation album for a while now, since the five or so I have in rotation now are getting a bit old.

Dinko - I've only got a 1994 Opel Corsa to compare it to, but it drives like a dream. Totally effortless from my part. I got the 1.5 turbo diesel injection version.I got that Kill Bill cue from some link posted in the Trailer music forum a while back... you might want to try hunting it down.

1.5? Diesel?
Now that's something you don't see too often on North American roads.

Hey Camillu, unfortunately I had no luck searching. Perhaps you could point me in the right direction if you would be so kind.

What did you search for, Justin? I put in a search for "Kill Bill" and it was only the second thread that came up....http://www.moviemusic.com/mb/Forum2/HTML/000469.html
You even posted in it (before the link was there).
