The score for "We Were Soldiers" is absolutley astonishing! Nick-Glennie Smith completley suprised me because he's not known that much I guess as a popular composer like John Williams, Michael Kaeman, etc. Man, I could listen to it over and over. Everyone, you all should buy it. It's amazing. I could possibly say it is the best score soundtrack for any movie ever!!!!

I agree with you Tjay good stuff. I think this is the only CD of his that I have other then The Man in the Iron Mask. Which is also a fun listen.As for rkeaveney...sigh...sometimes I think people like you just like to hear yourself type. Your not even original in your bashing. Good try though. Maybe next you can tell us that James Horner re-uses some of his cues over and over.

Ryan has a valid point though. This is Thin Red Line... almost.It's nice and enjoyable, and I like it more than Zimmer's fake musical explorations of the mind in Thin Red Line, but really, implying that this could be "the best score soundtrack for any movie ever!!!!" is pushing it.

tjay's reaction is understandable. Haven't you ever heard a score for the first and thought it was best thing since Christmas? I certainly have, many times; just after repeated listenings and the more scores you buy, the more you notice other people's work and the links they have to other scores, and most do.Dave, rkeaveney does have a point. It's not that he isn't being original or any nonsense like that, it's that he's right. We Were Soldiers sounds very much like The Thin Red Line, astonishingly similar actually. Glennie-Smith probably just fell victim to the temp track, and he probably has no control over that, since he is no John Williams or Jerry Goldsmith, who would have more control over their own musical moves. Besides, don't you own The Rock? That's a Nick Glennie-Smith score, despite what you may have read Hans Zimmer only wrote two themes on that one.

I'll be a liitle more compassionate in welcoming you to the boards, tjay. If you buy The Thin Red Line soundtrack, then you'll be floored by the very notion you have two different soundtracks with a similar power. It's a good thing.

That Ryan, what an ass. Has he not heard NG-S' awesome ATTILA? Man, that score rocks! It's the best of all-time. Oh, wait -- is it really a limp rip-off of GLADIATOR? Damn! This NG-S guy is really hung up on Z's stuff!Ryan

I must admit I'm a huge Media Ventures fan, but I wasn't too impressed with this score. Perhaps I should give the score a listen to "in" the movie. Will make more sense.
