    I'm anticipating a well-crafted action/suspense score, and I doubt Goldenthal will disappoint.

Yeah, I had a feeling Goldenthal would go back to his "Heat" style. This sounds like great news. People don't realize how great that work is because of the way the album is sequenced. I like the urban harshness to it. The article also mentions little bits of "The Good Thief" and "Sphere", which is encouraging as well. TGT is an interesting and unique listen, but I wouldn't call it great. Sphere on the other hand is in the top five best Goldenthal works. The action music for that score is incredible, so we'll see how it goes.

ok, I've never liked the Heat Soundtrack, but I would like to give it a second chance because I do like Goldenthal.

So to all of you who own the soundtrack, and enjoy it, can you please list a good programming sequence for my CD Player, when I'm listening to this score? Even if its just 3 or 4 tracks.
    Thanks.

A couple of the cues are reminiscent of the Metallica album 'S&M'

    That's very promising indeed.

Basically, just program out everything NOT Goldenthal. You're left with about half an hour of score from a 75 minute album. My favorite tracks are the opening "Heat," "Of Helplessness," "Predator Diorama," and "Of Separation." The two "of" tracks are particularly good in how well they convey the sorrow and pain of the characters. A good sampler of the "urban" sound that SWAT is supposed to sound like is in the opening track, "Heat."

Something I always find interesting is that "Funeral & Coda" from Michael Collins was originally written for the end of Heat, only orchestrated with the electric guitars as well. It was replaced with that Moby song, "God Moving over the Face of the Water." IMHO a poor choice.

There is an expanded HEAT out there. It's quite good. Goldenthal fans gotta have it.
