I now that there were rumors of Disney asked Danny Elfman to help them adapt the popular "Nightmare Before Christmas" into a stage musical.Does anyone know if these rumors are true?

Usually these things require 2-3 years of devlopment before they present it into the theatre.In this case, Elfman hands are full with upcoming film scores like Willy Wonka to focus on the musical.
It might become a relatively minimal role, something along the lines of Broadway's Lion King, in which Zimmer had little involvement in.

Well, if Danny Elfman is too busy, maybe the Kaplan brothers could have a go at it!
