Hi! How are you?Somehow, I managed to get a copy of the wonderful "The comfort of strangers" (still edited by CAM, lucky me
) and a copy of "The beach" soundtrack, which it is out of print, in a trade
But the soundtrack for COUSINS is missing! It is out of print and seems it's been so for a very longtime. Anyone knows if it will be released shortly or where I can find it or... something?
Thanks a lot and enjoy he week!

Hi Joan,Warner Bros. released it in 1989 (a reissue is pretty doubtful), and I worked on tracking down a copy for years, just to hear it because I like Badalamenti's music - trust me, it's not worth paying big bucks for. Buy a generic wedding band cd, and you have the same thing - it sounds nothing like Badalamenti's other work, and even though Andy Dursin compares it to Henry Mancini's charming light comedies(!?!?), that's a hell of a reach. Maybe you'd like it after all, who knows, but rent the film first!
Best to ya,
SeanPS...Comfort of Strangers is one of my all time favorite film scores - that main theme is amazing, truly deserving to be called 'operatic'.

Hi OHMSS76!Thanks a lot for the information! I can't tell about the entire score, but when I saw the movie ( a longtime ago
) I fell in love with the main title, which I think it's a lovely waltz. And, yes, you're right: "The comfort of strangers" is SUPERB

Thanks again and have a nice day!

You bet
Maybe I should relisten to it, but I just recall being sorely disappointed, since I was expecting something perhaps in the same neighborhood as STRANGERS at least...who knows!
Have to track down his scores for WEEDS and TOUGH GUYS DON'T DANCE one of these days, and see if they fare any better...although both these titles are also out of print!
I can happily recommend, if you haven't heard it, his score for CITY OF LOST CHILDREN - this one has that bittersweet sound that I know and love all over it

Best,

Ihave to admit to liking this score. It really revolves around two themes, the waltz main theme and Marie's theme. There are variations of both themes throughout the CD, and this may be redundant for some listeners; however, I like the two main melodies and enjoy the CD.
