Iīve just read in soundtrack.net that Mancina is out from Bad Boys 2 due to "creative differences". I wonder if his decision to quit has something to do with the appearence of Dr. Dre (does this man hasnīt a real name or what?) in the project, according to the MTV site. Is Dr. Dre just writing some simple stuff (including songs) for a few moments of the film, or does Bruckheimer wanted a closer cooperation, a la Don Davis-Juno Reactor, īcause that could be a reason for Mancinaīs leaving.
I hope someday we may know it. By now, Iīm glad for Trevor Rabin scoring alone the project, and I hope Mancinaīs work on the score has itīs recognition in the movie credits.

I just saw a close up of the new movie poster and it listed Rabin as the composer, with no mention of Mancina. Obviously, they usually only mention one person on the poster, but if Mancina left, that's too bad. I am sure Rabin will do a fine job, but I was looking forward to what Mancina might do. As for the Dre thing, I am anxious to see what role he played in the score. Rob Dougan and Juno Reactor are one thing; the music they write lends itself to a score; Dr. Dre? not so much. Very interesting.

Well, if you check on IMDB, there's only Dr.Dre and Trevor Rabin listed for the score. Mancina doesn't seem to be attached to the project anymore. I guess he didn't liked the idea of working with Dr.Dre.

I wonder if Rabin will use any of Mancina's theme for the original BB. Well, we'll see in a month.
