I know the CD hasn't come out yet (June 24th), but I saw this movie over the weekend and really enjoyed it as well as Powell's score. I think he basically went along the same line as Bourne Identity, but improved on it and made it better.Anyone else have any thoughts?

I haven't seen it yet. I know that Dan said it was like “Bourne Identity” and “Drumline” rolled into one. Supposed to see the film at some point...--Brian

I thought the score wasn't bad, like you said: an improvement on The Bourne Indentity. What I like about this score and Bourne is that they don't sound like Hans Zimmer, like others who work at Media Ventures — Herry Gregson-Williams, Steve Jablonsky... but it's easy to continue. So, he's found his own style and it sounds like he's having fun writing this music, but I'll hold off on this for a while. As far as the film goes, I think it lies in between a bad film and a good film; it seems as if the director wasn't very inspired by the material. I mean, everything the good-guys did went according to plan, it was like another episode of Ocean's Eleven, where there was no REAL suspense since it was way too predictable. The funny thing is, the best part about this picture isn't the big actors like Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Edward Norton, or Donald Sutherland, but the supporting cast: Jason Statham, Mos Def, and Seth Green. The best part in the film didn't even involve action, it was Seth Green impersonating Jason Statham; in his Australian accent: "Hi, my name's Handsome Rob, I'm gonna need yuh' shuht and yuh' van... youw not very bright r u?" lol, ok enough of that...
