    Hey,

Just got Finding Nemo and when track 4 starts there is a odd noise it sounds like a propeller for like the first 3 seconds, then the score comes on...anyone else have this or is it normal?

Maybe another edition of Peter's problem?

Mebbe if you see the film, you'll understand....

No, from his description, it was actual CD errors that were being interpreted.

Oh hey, lookie here - from our review of Finding Nemo: http://www.soundtrack.net/soundtracks/database/?id=3423

An interesting trend some Thomas Newman fans may have noticed is that, from time to time, albums released of his scores are briefly interspersed with a single brief dialogue sound bite (Meet Joe Black's "yes" immediately comes to mind) and even atmospheric sound effects (perhaps witnessed most blatantly in the CD release of The Horse Whisperer score). Finding Nemo actually sees a return to this, albeit it ever so subtly, and here, tiny hints of the two elements are kept from ever intruding upon the actual music.

    Enlightenment can be such fun!

Oh, and in case you didn't figure it out by now (since I'm sure you rushed out to see the film opening night), the "propellor" sound is Nemo.

    You're welcome,
    Dan

For the record, it was nice to see that Herrmann's "The Murder" was credited in the film. For those who failed to stay for all the end credits, you missed a treat: some really funny animation bits and a cameo by another Pixar character.
