Here are some tracks from a forthcoming soundtrack called THE ACTORS. Which includes 2 tunes by the director, Conor McPherson. (These are legal files from a webcast.)

WARNING: The following tracks feature kiddie-singers and kiddie-choruses. Which might make you throw up. So don't say I didn't warn you.

Nyman never ceases to surprise me. I don't what's going on, but he seems to have hit a new creative stride in the last couple of years. First Facing Goya comes along and blows me away; what I've heard from his recent Sangam CD (I don't have it yet) is unlike anything I've heard from him before; and now this comes along and makes me all giddy. I'm really looking forward to this one now.

Did Nyman have any involvement in the songs? Some of the melodies and chord progressions in "Could This Be Love" sound like it's possible, though I don't get that impression from "Star of the Sea."

    Thanks!

    Kirk

Dammit, Jim. I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't heard FACING GOYA. But I'm nuts about that strings-&-vibraphone track from THE ACTORS.

    WALTZ by Michael Nyman
(I love the bone-a-riffic trombone harmonies.)
