PeterK has the Varese Sarabande 25th Anniversary Celebration CD's for a very reasonable price. $16.99 for four discs. Has anyone heard these CDs? Are all rerecordings or OST's or a mixture of both?
    Opinions?

    Opinion here.

Mostly these are original soundtrack excerpts.

There are a few rerecordings. Those which are not original soundtracks, come from Varèse's own batch of rerecordings, however.

    Examples:
Korngold's Robin Hood for example is not the OST, but it is Varèse's Utah rerecording.

Jones' Last of the Mohicans is McNeely's RSNO recording.

Williams' Imperial March is Gerhardt's National Philharmonic version.

Thank you, Dinko. I also read "your opinion." I've enjoyed the In Sessions CD's.

this thing is five hours of music.

I may just pick it up for the long 36 hour excursion I have coming up.

compilations are great for variety while driving.
