Joel Goldsmith scores TV movie retelling of Helen of Troy story. http://www.usanetwork.com/movies/helenoftroy/credits.htmlChances of it being a good score: high.
Chances of it being released on CD: nil?No matter, since the movie does not air till this weekend:
Can this score be good?
Will it be yet another good score from Goldsmith Jr.? Or will it be a LOTR/Gladiator temp-tracked rip off?

The "USA Network" will be carrying it.
It's a cable/satellite channel. That's good to hear Joel had some work to do... I was wondering what happened to him.
And if this can get a CD release, anything can!

GOLDSMITH is doing the score for this??? WOW!!! I must have seen 2 dozen promos for this tv film on USA and never would have thought he would be attatched to it. We can always wish for a score release.... lol. Interesting news.. very interesting.Rich

This score has lots of potential, based on Joel Goldsmith's work on KULL THE CONQUEROR. Definitely looking forward to it.I like KULL [His mixture of contemporary guitar riffs, with epic orchestral stylings pre-date Debney in SCORPION KING] and his more modest, SHILOH. I think Jerry may have conducted SHILOH, or at least parts of it.

Does anyone know whether the (synth)brassy cue that accompany the preview is from the film/movie?

I can't wait. His work in First Contact was great. Did I mention that I LOVE the score to First Contact?I wasn't going to watch that movie, but gosh darnit, now I have to.

Wasn't half bad. (Wasn't half good either)The stand out cues for Part One:
The prolouge and the cue of one of the characters going through the market place.

I honestly couldn't watch any more after 45 minutes. I did like that cue where we first saw Helen at the beginning, but besides that... blah.NP: Sisters (Herrmann)

hmmmm, it's not as uninspired as the score that Nick Glennie Smith for Attila the Hun. That proloque cue was good, which infer the later battle cues that will be in the second half of the movie. And of course, the Gladiator influence is evident. Go Hans.
