    Hey ya'll,

The CD will be released by Disney Records on May 20th and will contain one end credits song by Robbie Williams the rest of the CD will contain 39 (yep, 39) tracks from Tom Newman's score.

Source: Disney Records (Asking never hurts)

This is outstanding news. I'm expecting quite a bit from Newman on this one. Looking back at his filmography, he's never before done an animated film. The last time he did a heart-felt family kind of film was Little Women, for which he composed one of his finest scores.

Is this the song Robbie Williams cocomposed with Hans Zimmer? Or is that for another movie?

    In that event:

    a) When will David get the call?

    b) You're not gonna like this news: no less a composer than John Barry is scoring Pixar's next film, "The Incredibles", directed by Brad Bird ("The Iron Giant").

Is that the superhero one? I thought I heard it was about a family of superheroes. Maybe that was another film.

John Barry's okay??? John Barry's GREAT! And an animated film score from him no less... this could be interesting. I hope it's true.

John Barry's okay???....beat me to it Jeron!

Any score by Barry should be appreciated, the man is a legend and a master and amongst a select few film composers who have a truly original and unique voice, lets just hope he stays with the project.

... but given Barry's track record as of late, let's see if they don't pull a Miramax on him and dump his score......

It would be nice to think Barry could produce something great again and maybe he will, but from the evidence of recent years, it would seem he is wearied and burnt out - well past his prime. Listen to Enigma or Mercury Rising - one theme repeated ad nauseum with minor variations. He hasn't produced an interesting score in years. This is a sad fact.

    Dear Timmer and Jeron,

Dudes, I meant John Barry is acceptable to score a Pixar film. Of course he rocks! I don't own every Bond score just because he's ok.

Got the advance of FINDING NEMO today, and I'm sure you'll all be happy to know that it runs a solid 1 hour and 1 second in length.

The Robbie Williams song is 4:26, so you can figure it's still a solid chunk of score.

Oh, and since the "Seeker" is away, here's the track listing:

    01. Wow (2:31)
    02. Barracuda (1:29)
    03. Nemo Egg (Main Title) (1:16)
    04. First Day (1:16)
    05. Field Trip (0:58)
    06. Mr. Ray, Scientist (1:28)
    07. The Divers (1:57)
    08. Lost (1:03)
    09. Short-Term Dory (0:44)
    10. Why Trust A Shark? (1:17)
    11. Friends Not Food (1:52)
    12. Fish-O-Rama (0:29)
    13. Gill (1:41)
    14. Mt. Wannahockaloogie (1:21)
    15. Foolproof (0:32)
    16. Squishy (1:33)
    17. Jellyfish Forest (1:32)
    18. Stay Awake (1:47)
    19. School of Fish (1:04)
    20. Filter Attempt (2:06)
    21. The Turtle Lope (2:05)
    22. Curl Away My Son (1:28)
    23. News Travels (1:14)
    24. The Little Clownfish From The Reef (1:16)
    25. Darla Filth Offramp (2:23)
    26. Lost In Fog (1:06)
    27. Scum Angel (1:22)
    28. Hailku (1:41)
    29. Time To Let Go (2:23)
    30. Sydney Harbour (0:28)
    31. Pelicans (1:13)
    32. Drill (0:51)
    33. Fish In My Hair! (1:30)
    34. All Drains Lead To The Ocean (1:36)
    35. ...P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney... (0:39)

So the End Credits song is Robbie's Beyond the Sea?

I was hoping for a new song, maybe written by Newman, but this is one of my favourite oldies, and IMO the best oldie Robbie revamped on his 'Swing While Your Winning' CD. (which also contained a superb new song - ' Will Talk And Hollywood Will Listen')

    Looking forward to the score.

    Yes, I've heard it.

It's good - verrrry eclectic, but has a nice feel to it. Probably works better in the film, though.
