For those of you who have never acquired the Hellraiser scores, Intrada has just released a 3 cd set of the OST from Hellraiser, Hellraiser 2, and Hellraiser 3. These are great scores by Christopher Young and Randy Miller. Especially 1 & 2. Now's your chance if you've missed out in the past. And I think the price is pretty reasonable. It breaks down to about $12.00 a score.

It's a box set by Silva; Intrada is just selling it (like they do all soundtracks).

The first two Hellraiser scores are a must for any serious film score collection. Hellraiser III by Miller is certainly fun, but not required. Hellraiser was the 1st score by Young I sought in late 1988. Such great memories of that and tracking down Hellbound in a store in NYC.

Disappointing that they didn't tack on BLOODLINE by Daniel Licht, which is now out-of-print.

"Hellraiser TV clip source cue" 0:30
This is on a, ah... different version of Basic Instinct. IS this from one of the hellraiser movies? And if so, is the rest of the score as good as that?

I couldn't tell you if that :30 cue is actually from Hellraiser, cause it's not on the OST. But the soundtrack is better than that cue. I do have the Basic Instinct with that.

That cue on BASIC INSTINCT is an original, source cue by Jerry Goldsmith - hair-raising stuff, guess that Carolco was too cheap to license Young's score for this tv clip that plays in the background of the film, so Goldsmith got to write 30 secs. of unbridled brass fury!
