Just got it (online) and was REALLY curious as to how good the actual score to this film is. I am (like many other owners seem to have too) mainly getting this for "Fire In A Brooklyn Theatre", but Edelman is a pretty talented composer and hope that this score is a good one as well. Anyway, to the owners of the score...how is it?

This is a real emotional highlight of Randy Edelman's repetoire. The subject matter is so heavy, it almost weighs down the score. That is, you probably won't find this immediately re-listenable. (The score is periodically broken with Japanese source music, which the average score-hourd might ignore.)

Edelman's score is hopeful, and beautiful, but bleak at times, and tragic. "Fire" certainly is a powerhouse cue, and those who cut trailers know it. (But then, Edleman's music is almost traditionally placed into trailers, from "Rob Roy" to "Mulan".)

Highly recommended and highly underrated. It contains a breathtaking melody that is sometimes only played on piano without any other instruments and itīs still beautiful. The true sign of a very strong melody.

    Very good score.

One of the few Edelman scores that contains both good thematic material and ISN'T held down by sub-par orchestrations.

There's a bunch of Japanese songs on the album, however, but if you don't like em you can always edit the CD player, like I.

The famous theme get reused many time throughout the score, but with great effect. It's the piano rendition that really clinched it for me as a must buy
