The official website for John Ottman states that after months of editing and writing music, the composer finally started recording the 100+ minute score to X2 on Friday, March 7.With a 90+ piece orchestra (and choir) to be utilized, conductor / orchestrator Damon Intrabartolo kicked off the scoring session at the Newman Scoring Stage.

SWEET!!!!I like the Kamen score also (note, the complete one, not the CD presentation) and I'm looking forward to hearing what Ottman will do.

Well bah. Funny, since that page isn't really "live", nor is that the final track listing.but since everyone is going "gaga" over it, here you go:
http://www.johnottman.com/projects/features/xmen2/(see, the URL is so easy to figure out.)
The real "test" will be to see how much this incorrect track listing gets spread around the net.....
Oh, and eventually look for sound clips, and even.... video from the scoring session.

Though they have no bearing on the quality of the music, those track titles are terribly lame and generic.Where's Goldsmith's "The..." when you need it!?!?

latest exchange rate data:
Superb Records sold for $33.99CDN in online stores.
33.99 CDN = 23.39 US dollars.
and that's not even counting the additional sales tax which puts it at $39CDN ($27USD).
I think I'll pass.

I think I seem to have overstepped my bounds and I have been discourteous. Dan, I own you an apology. I'm sorry, I really had no idea anybody had picked up that information before it was legitimized. Serves me right for being overzealous. I honestly don't know how SuperheroHype got the info first.[Message edited by Widescreen on 04-14-2003]

I'm sure once the track titles have been finalized, Dan's page on Ottman's site will reflect the accurate info. Common sense, I know.

Chris,No apologies are necessary. Given the directory structury on John's site, it's not out of reason to figure that someone would just guess the right path for the X-MEN 2 page.
All it resulted in, though, was me scrambling to get the proper track listing up, as well as the CD cover artwork (which thankfully was much easier to get than it could have been). Now, of course, you WILL still have to wait a week or so for John to compile his thoughts - he has a lot to write about the score, and THEN he has to write about editing the film! (That's a lot of stuff for someone who has been working nonstop for the past 10 months!)
Look for sound clips when I get back in town next week. (And on a similar thread, stay on your toes for MATRIX RELOADED clips on Don's site after I've had a chance to fully absorb it all. Mmmm.....)

ooooh! That's more like it. Thanks Ryan.As for HMV being a bad idea for pricing, it all depends on what you're looking for.
Some things may be cheaper at Amazon, but choice is often poor, and most times I have found what interests me to be cheaper at HMV.comThe only place I have found to be consistently cheaper than HMV is cdplus.com , but again rather poor choice on many items.

Yeah, James, but didn't you know, Bri is the great legitimizer?By the way, in cross-confirmation, for those of you seeking the score at websites for stores like Best Buy and Circuit City, it is at both, but you have to type in X-Men 2 and click on Album at Best Buy's site, and the stranger one is Circuit City, which lists it as "X-Men, Vol. 2". Man, the day's going to come when commerce respects specificity, and when it does, can we collectively spit on those chumps, please?

DanBite me Dan. UK Dan asked a question, I supplied the answer. WS is also a nice guy and was basically thanking me for the confirmation. Stop being an ass. First the Broughton thread now this, why don't you go out and take a breather of the LA air and come back when you can be at least somewhat nicer in your posts rather than the sarcastic ass you've been the past few days. Your attitude is getting old.

Wow Brian, something musta rubbed you the wrong way to get all snippy like that!As it is, I had a nice vacation in Boston, and am more realistic and clearheaded than I was before - thanks for the suggestion.
If anything, my attitude towards you is merely reflective of the one you've shown me, so get over yourself.

Really I have no problem with you, I just have found that you attitude in your posts as of late has been rather harsh toward people, not just me. You just generally seem to snap at everyone.
And that wasnt me being snippy

And believe me - this isn't me being "harsh". It might be a bit more cynical and blunt than you are used to seeing from me, but that's just something you'll have to deal with. No reason I should sugar-coat things for you, ya know?
