I remember awhile back Dan brought this up, and I have been checking amazon ever since, but so far, to no avail. Is this DVD really being released? If so, what will the extra 2-discs contain? Thanks in advance.

This isn't really score related, but word is that it will have the usual amount of stuff. 3 commentaries, making-of segments, actor bootcamp, post production featurettes, and even a few history-channel type documentaries about the real incident.Dan

It's out in May or June. The 3 disc version has been out in France for a number of months and was delayed on Region 1 due to Sony's fears of flooding the market further over Christmas.Disc One Original widescreen presentation, audio commentary from Ridley Scott, Jerry Bruckheimer, audio commentary from author Mark Bowden and screenwriter ken Nolan, audio commentary from 1993 special forces team veterans, talent profiles, picture disc
Disc Two eight never-before-seen deleted scenes with optional director commentary as well as seven featurettes - "Image and Design" - This feature gives the viewer a total movie-making experience, exploring the creation of the movie including Jerry Bruckheimer's on-set photography, Ridleygrams, storyboard to final film comparisons and extensive photo galleries. "The Essence of Combat" comprises six behind-the-scenes features including an exclusive insight into the physical preparation by the actors for their roles in actor's bootcamp as well as an in-depth look at the film's visual effects and music.
Disc Three "Ambush in Mogadishu", a brilliant 60-minute documentary on the making of the movie with cast and crew interviews as well as "The True Story of Black Hawk Down", a 92-minute History Channel documentary on the events that inspired the movie. Three Q&A sessions with BAFTA (featuring Ridley Scott, Jerry Bruckheimer and the cast), Editor's Guild (with editor Petro Scalia) and American Cinematheque (with Ridley Scott and Jerry Bruckheimer) allow you to delve into the minds of both the cast and crew on the making of the movie, described by Rolling Stone magazine as "one of the best movies of the year." Selected scenes from a different perspective with "Target Building Insertion", a multi-angle deconstruction with optional commentary, Poster explorations photo gallery, movie soundtrack TV commercial, original trailer
Sony will announce it for R1 soon.Dan (the British one)

So there goes the chance of having an isolated score.... Thanks for the info, though.

I hope the deleted scenes have more blood and guts, because I didn't quite get enough gruesomeness from the film.Seriously, this film grossed me out. I can't believe the girl at the rental place said it was a "great movie." Real? Ok, it was probably pretty realistic, but I think there is a line to draw someplace. Enjoy your three discs of gore, everybody!

I don't know, maybe I missed something, but I didn't think this was too gory. Not as bad as, say, Braveheart, or Saving Private Ryan, or We Were Soldiers. Maybe I'm blind to it.

PS>I thought the MUSIC was perfect for the film and wouldn't mind seeing a feature on it. I also wouldn't have minded a score, but those days of GREAT DVD's are pretty much over...
