    Today I got:

Mystic Massuer by Richard Robbins & Zakir Hussain

Swept Away by Michel Colombier (who bizzarely "dedicates" 2 tracks to Arvo Part that he basically rips off from him)

    Blade II by Marco Beltrami

Ararat by Mychael Danna (VERY good)

and Analyze That by David Holmes

All were used for $7.99 plus tax.

Coming for FREE via a friend are:

Two Weeks Notice by John Powell (which I thought was boring in the film)

    The Recruit by Klaus Badelt

and The Life of David Gale by Alex & Jake Parker.

Invasion, is that those 2 movies that were on Sci-Fi the other day? With the rocks that fell to earth and could burn a hole through someone's hand?

Hercules: The Legenday Journeys - Volume 3 Out OF Print - Joseph LoDuca

OH i love this! Just as good as i remembered, thanks again PeterK.
This has alot of chants and vocals in it. With some good fasioned action music in the mix. What a cool cd, to bad i spend all day awake so i feel asleep at rack 10 and i relly wanted to listen to it all in one sitting. But of course i lay down, minding that no one remembers the thread about how we listen to our music

Justin, I am not sure if it is. All I know it is from 1997, is a TV mini-series and is from the pen of Robin Cook.

Details of the CD at www.soundtrackcollector.com/catalog/soundtrackdetail.php?movieid=9215

    Just in:

Battlefield Earth (Cmiral): haven't seen the movie (lucky escape by the sound of it) but music has some good reviews

    Lots of awesome stuff!!!

Godzilla Vs. Biollante-Good arrangements of Ifukube's themes and some inventive originals

The Return Of Godzilla-Dark, menacing, and just chilling.

Best Of Godzilla Vol 1 & 2 (late Feb. really)-No brainers lol

    Apollo 13-Horner kick

Rocketeer-Got me to almost jump out of my seat in Flying Circus' 1:15 mark. Started brief Horner kick.

Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade-Bought to convince myself I wasn't on a Horner kick. What a fantastic score. Belly of the Steel Beast is rousing!
The Living Daylights*-Big Bond fan and don't want to pay 70$ for the original.

Back To The Future Part II*-Loved the compliation CD, but want to hear some of the original work.

*ordered from Borders and in transit

After these, who knows...but I feel the need to get some more lol

Bryan, you got Barry Gray's JOURNEY TO THE FAR SIDE OF THE SUN? I didn't know that was available. What label's it on? There are plenty of Barry Gray fans here, so you'd be doing us a favour (having said that, it's very possible I'm the only person who DOESN'T know that this is out).

MINORITY REPORT (Johnny Dubbelyou): Got it yesterday. Put on headphones and sat in big chair for 75 mins without moving, paying attention. Felt it was a bit of a long haul, and maybe lacking in identity. Put it on again today without headphones and didn't try to be so intense with it. Much better. Will grow to really like it. But may be for dipping into more than for sitty downy headphoney no movery.

The build up to the part where Biff catches Marty stealing the book is the best. There's the perfect amount of tension (but not in the apocalyptic sense) and it stays fun. I need to find Predator lol...

Twas' a Golden Age Mon-dee with thanks to the K in part....

    Waxman's Prince Valiant & Untamed
    Bernstein's The Comancheros
Friedhofer's Marco Polo/Lodger/7 Cities Of Gold/Rains Of Ranchipur (grazie Peter!)

Only played the Lodger and Marco Polo so far, but that Friedhofer disc is VERY much worth seeking, on those two pieces alone. Quite sad this is Marco Polo's weakest selling disc so far....

The FSM's are all fantastic, especially Untamed - I think even younger fans may enjoy this incredible album, it's one that tells a story and never bogs down - lots of 'travelling' music amidst the action and drama. If you are a Zimmer/Elfman kid, and have a mild interest in Golden Age music, I'd recommend taking a chance on this one...

The last couple of months have been wonderful, musically speaking - although not movie music, these are some extremely wonderful items from Disney theme parks:

ELLEN'S ENERGY ADVENTURE (Bruce Broughton; complete live recording, but surprisingly good sound quality - thanks J.A.G.)

HONEY I SHRUNK THE AUDIENCE (Bruce Broughton; complete soundtrack, partly very good sound quality - again, thanks J.A.G.)

HAUNTED MANSION HOLIDAY (the Gordon Goodwin original score + scarrols, nearly a complete recording with very good sound)

And then, to show that I still also collect movie music, here are some of the latest additions...

YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE (John Barry - I could listen to the theme song instrumental variations forever... I luve all those strings !!!!!!!!!!)

SOMEWHERE IN TIME (John Barry - the Varese rerecording; well, nostalgic, isn't it ?)

THE LORD OF THE RINGS (Leonard Rosenman - in my opinion, Howard Shore's two scores are DULL compared to this melodic and exciting Rosenman classic)

And last but not least -
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (plus HYPERSPACE) by Don Davis (Zagreb Symphony Orchestra; B&B Main Theme by Lee Holdridge) ...Oooooooooohhh, THIS IS T H E DON DAVIS I PREFER !!! Simply spine-chillingly, wonderfully, gorgeously, spell-bindingly orchestral, rhythmic, and gargantuan !! MORE !!!

The Rosenman LOTR score is good when you're in the mood for Rosenman, but damn I get tired of EVERY transition being a tonal pyramid! I think Shore wins this category for me, cause I can make it through the entire albums.

Agreed!!! I must have listened to "Road To Chicago" like crazy the first night I got it. "Ghosts" is quite stirring as well. Perfect for the film, and works as a great listening experience overall.

    Additions :
Star Trek III (James Horner)-Just special ordered it from Borders. Now, the wait

I may also get Final Fantasy:TSW and Stargate later this week to commemorate my return to driving after a nearly fatal auto accident I had in December. I'm unfamiliar with the scores though, so I may pick up something familiar...but who knows lol. Are they worth picking up?

Battle Beyond The Stars/Humanoids From The Deep - Horner

THUNDERBIRDS - Barry Gray ...another holy grail nearly completed

Solaris - Martinez ...more of a Brian Eno style of space music but very good, I like it!

    Il Papa Buono - Morricone

    Canone Inverso - Morricone

The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing - Williams/Legrand

    Femme Fatale - Ryuichi Sakamoto

    Ararat - Mychael Danna
