Anyone knows who's doing the music for James Cameron's documentary "Ghosts of the Abyss"? http://www.ghostsoftheabyss.com/

I've just seen that there's a score album coming out on Hollywood Records on April 8, but no info on the composer.
If anybody knows more, please post it.

    Listed as additional score.

I searched and searched and all i could find is that the film is currently temp tracked. And John Barry, thou that's just probably pages that have "Raise The Titanic" on it.

Steve's work was actually additional music for some making-of segments that are up on earthship.tv - not for the feature itself.

I just found it out. Joel McNeely is doing the score.

Cool deal! Steve had mentioned that he thought it was McNeely, but wasn't sure. Glad it was confirmed!

    Why not Horner?!

I'd love to hear; "Titanic", "Braveheart", "The Rock", "Star Trek II", and "Sneakers" to a backdrop of something new and exciting!

    J/K.

And I'm of the Horner LOVERS mind you.... before you go flaming away.

Hmm, Cameron, imho one of the hottest directors around, seems to switch with composers quite frequently. Unlike other big shot directors like Spielberg, Lucas, Zemeckis and Shyamalan.

So "hot" that he still hasn't directed a feature film in over six years?

I guess him choosing McNeely shouldn't be too surprising, considering all the scores he did for Dark Angel. But am I the only one that wants Cameron to do another movie with a Silvestri score?

No not at all. As the CD notes point out Cameron was extremely pleased with Silvestri's score for The Abyss (I don't remember him doing that with other composer scores?). The Abyss was a very personal project for Cameron because it was the movie that he always dreamed of making since he was a child. So he had deep faith in Silvestri. And I'm sure Alan Silvestri himself would be very interested in working with Cameron again.

And Dan: Cameron is so "hot" that studio executives are still starting to drool when they hear the name James Cameron (not to mention the $$ signs they get in their eyes) His last "feature film" was the most successful movie ever. If that doesn't make a director hot. But I agree that Jimbo should direct another monstrous big budget movie soon. It would be very interesting if he enters the horror arena again. With Silvestri scoring

Well, I'm just thinking about Cameron's post-TITANIC projects. The "Dark Angel" season finale that he directed not only sucked, but it had a low viewership because it was up against SPIDER-MAN's opening night. (Ironic.) And then there was the Discovery Channel "Bismark" special, which was a big yawner.

GHOSTS OF THE ABYSS looks interesting, but only as a curiosity item. When Cameron gets back in the game, then we'll see how "hot" he is.
