    WOO HOO!!!!

I was in Rock-A-Way records tonight and found 7 of the second wave of new Bond CDs for $6.99 each!!!

I only got 6 of them as I didn't want "Goldeneye" again. I picked up: "Thunderball," "Goldfinger," "The Man With The Golden Gun," "The Spy Who Loved Me," "Moonraker" and "A View To A Kill."The only one I DIDN'T see was "You Only Live Twice." DAMN.

Of course the first thing I did was put in "Thunderball" and go immediately to the bonus tracks. They sound GREAT. (There is some tape defect on track 16 but it is minor.)

For those who saw the track listing of "Thunderball" elsewhere it isn't complete. Here is the correct tracklisting:

    1. Thunderball - Main Title (Tom Jones)
    2. Chateau Flight
    3. The Spa
    4. Switching The Body
    5. The Bomb
    6. Cafe Martinique
    7. Thunderball
    8. Death of Fiona
    9. Bond Below Disco Volante
    10. Search for Vulcan
    11. 007
    12. Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

    BONUS TRACKS:

    13. Gunbarrel/Traction Table/Gassing the Plane/Car Chase
    14. Bond Meets Domino/Shark Tank/Lights Out For Paula/For King and Country
    15. Street Chase
    16. Finding the Plane/Underwater Ballet/Bond With SPECTRE Frogmen/Leiter To The Rescue/Bond Joins Underwater Battle
    17. Underwater Mayhem/Death of Largo/End Titles
    18. Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Mono)

My favorite cue is "Street Chase." MY favorite use of the "007" Theme.

    James

OOH, You LUCKY, LUCKY bastard!! (Said in a "Life of Brian" Pythonesque way so as to not cause offence )

Over here in the U.K. they're selling for about 12 pounds which is about $19.3680...but thats only an estimate Captain (raises eyebrow in a Spock-like manner!! )

Gae NP Ulysses (Alessandro Cicognini) Just bought this cheap at E-Bay and still trying to work out its merit.

SECOND wave? Here, not even the first wave has arrived yet...and the old releases sell for €9.99, more than you paid for the new ones...

Let us know if Moonraker sounds any better. I might buy this again if the sound quality improvements are noticeable.

    I can't wait for Thunderball!

Gae, are these officialy available here in Blighty? Amazon are 'import' only on their listings. If I can contain myself until May I will buy the lot when I am in the US, but that may be tricky as far as OHMSS is concerned.

    Dan,

LIVE AND LET DIE arrived this morning from Silva Screen in London. £12.95, free postage. I ordered it last Wednesday.

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER and OHMSS I have on order from the States, basically because it's cheaper.

They're £8.99 each from www.play.com, but they won't have them until the 24th, and I don't think they are stocking them all.

Jim, I've used play.com to buy a few DVDs in the past as they are really cheap. I dont know why, but for some reason I didn't think they sold many Soundtracks only POP. I guess I was wrong. Incidentally, they dont put down the new track listings I noticed, only the original listings.
Yes Dan, I think the Amazon Bond scores are imports but they would be wouldn't they, originating from FSM? Or am I missing out on something?
SilvaScreen are advertising the first wave on their home page at the cost of £12.95.
Unfortunately, I cant afford to buy any at the moment although I'll probably end up buying some from play.com...FREE shipping too!!!
My dillemma is I have most of the scores on record and cassette and only recently bought quite a few on DVD. If only I'd known!!

These are Capitol/EMI releases. The only thing linking these releases to FSM are a few crew members hired by Capitol, like Lukas Kendall and "Jeff Bond (no relation.)"

I ordered the first three releases from England last Tuesday from Screen Archives - they arrived the following Monday! Worked out about £7.50 each!
I'm really pleased with them - thought the comments on the sound must be exagerated but the sound is amazing. There are also the odd extra bits on well known tracks that are not even mentioned as having been expanded!
I love them all but think Live and Let Die is perhaps the most surprising for extras.

I picked up Thunderball and You Only Live Twice up on Friday. I'm really enjoying You Only Live Twice, as some of the score comes off much more delicate than I had expected. The sequencing of these albums is hideous, but the sound quality is quite crisp and the music is first rate.

Is anybody else listening to these or are we all just waiting for the second CD of Attack of the Clones or Pearl Harbor?

OHMSS arrived last Friday. It's excellent.

DIAMONDS is on backorder from Silva; and I've ordered THUNDERBALL, GOLDFINGER and YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE from the US.

While I wouldn't mind a expanded AOTC I did pick up quite a few of the new Bond CDs; Diamonds Are Forever, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, A View To A Kill, From Russia With Love, Moonraker and Man With The Golden Gun. Moonraker still sounds like sh*t and I haven't listened to Man With The Golden Gun. The titles I didn't purchase were Dr. No, Live and Let Die, The Spy Who Loved Me, Goldeneye, and For Your Eyes Only cause I hate them. I didn't buy The Living Daylights & Octopussy cause the Ryko discs sound great. I'm debating about Goldfinger, especially since the sound on the non-expanded CDs aren't that much of an improvement and I have the 4 extra tracks on the James Bond 30th Anniversary 2 disc set. Thunderball and You Only Live Twice were sold out at Tower so all I need are those 2 and I'm set.

Regarding the Goldeneye re-release: is this just a re-release of the original album or does it have new material? Thanks!

Do ANY of the Bond re-issues that are the same as the original LPs/CDs sound any better than the CDs of them already out?

I know for a fact that From Russia With Love sounds much better! I found it worth the upgrade, but then, it's my favorite Bond score after OHMSS, so...
