Variety has reported that Carter Burwell (Fargo, Rob Roy, The Rookie, Velvet Goldmine) is scheduled to score ALAMO for director John Lee Hancock (who also hired him for The Rookie). What are your thoughts on this? I don't know too much about him other than his work on Rob Roy, Three Kings, and The Rookie. Is he a good choice for such a film?
Here's a good Alamo site, by the way: http://www.thealamofilm.com

If it is anything like THE HI-LO COUNTRY, it should be very good.

LOVE Burwell scores. Rob Roy, his first foray into big orchestral work, is nothing of a masterpiece and THE best score of the three big Irish/ Scottish/ Celtic movies of the 90s.
Burwell's The Rookie is one of the best scores of 2002, in my opinion. Really nice stuff. I want a complete release.

A very good choice, JJ you intended to insert the word 'short' between 'nothing' and 'of' in your post?
