I know that this has been discussed before but Michael Ware has just posted up his review of it on the FSM website.

    What a load of crap.

The performance is by Beijing's China Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Yang Yang recorded with depth and nuance by Tim Boyle, and like the music, the performance is exemplary in every way.

Big orchestra? If this is a big orchestra, then I don't even want to know what Goldenthal used on Final Fantasy.

Recorded with depth and nuance? Maybe. But maybe that dude should hear Joshua Bell's West Side Story Suite for what depth and nuance really mean. The Touch recording has less depth and nuance than those second rate Hungarian recordings of the 1980's.

As for the performance being exemplary in every way, please don't tell that to any of the great american orchestras or the famed Euro ensembles. They cannot but be offended. Hell, even in Prague they would be offended by this type of third rate playing.
