Yes, the world needs to hear Chouans! Other gems I'd like to see rereleased.A Summer Story : first rate Delerue romance, very passionate Tours du Monde Tours du Ciel : Delerue writes music for the cosmos, incredible string pieces I bought a copy (bootleg) of Tours and it's the one CDR I've had go bad = won't play. Bummer!

Next Disques Cinémusique release (May 15) is the original score composed and conducted by Georges Delerue for CHOUANS!, a 1988 Philippe de Broca's drama. This long awaited reissue will feature a completely remastered sound and a new packaging. Total length: 52:30. CHOUANS! will be available as a regular release, not a limited edition. Well, I can finally own this thing and find out what the hubbub is about.  NP: Thirst(May) Great little gem, nice use of chorus, HIGHLY recommended for fans of offbeat, creepy, yet unique 70's horror....I guess that would be me.... Sean

The Chouans are rebels in the French Revolution, so you can guess what this music may be similar too. However, deeper than the straightforward film and score about the revolution (La Revolution Francaise), there's a distraught love story going on here in Chouans. Delerue's scoring sensibilities for love stories result in, to me, his most inspiring music. Happy love stories or sad love stories, no difference. Chouans! is a great score, and again, offered for a price that is less than typical highway robbery. Good news, as mentioned, is there are plenty to go around. Have a good weekend everyone.

Chouans! has come to its inevitable end. DCM isn't pressing any more copies, and today the last shipment came in. Not so many to go around any longer... less than 25 copies left in the MM store:
