Just entered a record shop here in Ostend (Belgium), and to my surprise, they already had cd's of the 'Two Towers' score, and i just bought one.
Wasn't this being released on the 10 th. of December ?

Amazon.at lists 2nd for the regular and 16th for the limited release... Which I find extremely annoying - I don't know if I'll be able to find the limited release in local stores, so I'd rather order it online - but I want to have it right after I see the movie, and 16th is somewhat late for that...

All I could collect today were my five tickets for the first showing of the movie on the morning of the 18th damn it.
I was searching all over for the ltd ed FOTR CD as I will need it now to keep consistency with the CD covers given I am getting the Ltd TT score... Found it online in the end.

The regular version is out in the UK today. I couldn`t wait til next week to get the ltd edition, though will probably get that eventually as well. All I can say is that it is possibly one of the best scores ever. Even better than FOTR. Isengard Unleashed is just epic. There could be another Oscar here for Shore.

Hmmmm yes.... so it is.... Amazon UK are already fresh out of the regular quoting a 1 to 2 week backlog on re stock. Cant justify the purchase of both, so another week for me.Dan

Not as good as the first one but I just have to listen to it more. Track 10 (Treebeard) was brilliant.Juha

Yup, the standard release is in UK shops already. However, we've got to wait until next Monday for the LE. I'm really excited about hearing this now. The 18th seems like forever to wait...NW The Simpsons

How about: In 99% of the cases we have to wait a few weeks/months before they release scores that have already been released in the US.

Amazon UK now have stock of the standard. I am hoping there is no delay on the ltd edition. If they fail to ship it on Sunday when I expect them too, I will cancel the order and head down into London on Monday morning. The pain of waiting even longer will get the better of me.

Don't think the temptation of MP3s were any less stronger than temptation for the one ring itself, but really this is a CD that has to be spun in full on my home theatre set up. Nothing else will do.If I end up having to go into London to get it, I will have to leave my cd player at home to avoid listening to it on the train ride back.

Four days and counting...

Arg!!!!!! Damnit, what's going on now with this LE? For some reason, we've been unable to get it in stock (HMV Kinsgton-Upon-Thames). And I wanted to buy it tomorrow too.
I hope you have better luck on your quest, Dan!!!

Stock issues eh? I best ready my day to scour most of the stores in the west end then. Hope I find it...The Virgin Megastore website litsts the most odd of dates, 1/1/2020... If I can't find it anywhere in the west end tomorrow I will be miffed and it'd make for some very odd goings on regarding the release.

I'm as miffed as Bruce Banner on a bad day.... I scoured a good 5 miles of the west end on foot today, trying small specialist stores, two virgin megastores, three HMVs, waterstones and two branches of Borders..... Not a bloody thing! One of the Virgin stores said they had some, but they had all gone. The chap there definately knew what I was talking about, knew what it looked like.....etc, but they were out and all other places had not received any stock.
So, permit me if I may to say;

One can only hope they show up sometime this week. I have been told by the Watford based Virgin magastore that they may have stock tomorrow and to call after 12 and see, which I will do.I heard so many things today. One fellow in HMV said there is actually no official date in the UK for the ltd and that it just comes when it comes.
The record label has done a pretty questionable job here really. Few fans even knew the UK release of the standard CD was put forward from Dec 9th to Dec 2nd and now this mess up with the ltd edition.
If anyone finally spots it on sale, do tell.

Checked some stores today - it really won't be out here in Austria before next Monday. Just to be sure to get it in time for the movie, I might have a friend from the Netherlands get it for me.

So, here's a question for those of you who already own the score. Is the theme for Rohan the same theme heard quietly in two scenes concerning Boromir in FOTR? An excellent part for horns is heard in the Council of Elrond scene, when Boromir is stating the case for his people and heard again in Lothlorien when he and Aragon are discussing the same topic. I'm just curious if this is Rohan's theme or a preview of a theme for Gondor. Any comments?

I should add I nearly bought the standard one to counter my grief of the ltd not being released on time.
Soooooo tempting....Held it in my hands with different cover variations from store to store. I REALLY like the Gollum cover even though it's Fellowship Gollum and not re-designed Two Towers Gollum. Very nice cover...

I have the album and can tell you that the Rohan theme is different. It is much more...majestic. I believe the theme you are talking about is a preview of the Gondor theme...Which we'll hopefully hear in it's full glory in The Return of the King.

If it's a theme at all (there's beautiful horn music everytime they talk about Gondor, but I haven't been able to hear a specific theme), it'll probably be a Gondor theme. I don't see why Shore should use it for Rohan - when they're talking about the White Tower, they don't mean the Golden Hall.

Dan - I've so nearly bought the standard one several times over the last week, & having loads of it on the shelf, & selling a number of copies of it hasn't helped. I'll pass on any info I can get about the ltd release as soon as I get it, but I'm off now until Thursday, so hopefully that'll be too late by then!NP Foo Fighters: All My Life (live on Later...)

Thanks, Pete.I see the American release was coordinated as it should have been and that there is no shortage of the Ltd Ed from US retailers today.
In the UK, online, Amazon have no stock, HMV have no stock, Virgin don't even LIST the LE anymore and Tesco have no stock.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhh for the love of God. Virgin in Watford didn’t get stock of the limited ed today either. The chap said they have 600 on order to go out to all their big branches, and nothing has shipped from the incompetent record company. I am not a happy person right now.....Dan

Bah, that's it. I just ordered it from Amazon in the US with Courier shipping. Even if it suddenly comes in stock in the UK tomorrow, whatever, I am happy to know it's secured and I have one coming possibly by Friday. Only cost me about £5/6 more then the UK retail for the ltd ed.Dan

I'm holding out on the hope that the L will actually make an appearance on these shores. But I'm going to be severely pissed off if it doesn't, & then there's none of the US ones left, because everyone else has done like Dan...Aaaaargh, the dilemma!!

I think it will appear at stores here within the next 7 to 10 days, but the UK divison of the record label has shown their incompetence when it comes to dealing with keeping retailers up to date because it wasn't until the 11th hour that retailers were told they could sell the standard as of dec 2nd instead of the 9th.On top of that, now there is their faliure to inform retailers as to reasons of the UK Ltd edition's delay and give them a new date to promote.
Bah to them. I am hoping my US copy will go out today and be here by the weekend. I wouldn't worry about the likes of Amazon US having none left. They took what was the biggest hoard of the FOTR Ltd Eds and still have those in stock one year later...
