Well, I'm waiting too - also due to the price issue. With my staff discount, I should be able to get it for about £15 - & I should be getting a voucher for that as an Xmas pressie from the shop! Nice!NP Analyze That (David Holmes)

Well, I won't listen to it before seeing the movie, so if I get it by next Tuesday, that's ok. And frankly I don't trust mail service...it took Varese a whole week to ship out my Home Alone 2 disc, and now after one and a half weeks it still hasn't arrived.NP: Richard Strauss: Sinfonia domestica (CSO, Reiner)

Exactly. I'm only going to listen to the FotR track before the film (assuming I get it in time), so waiting isn't too much of a problem. It's annoying, though.

Best Buy in my area had one left for $19.99...but I just went with the standard version for $11.99.A booklet I will skim though once and an extra track isn't worth $8.
Really enjoying the new score though...I can't imagine how more I will like it after having seen the film!

I don't usually make rash premature statements based on only one listen but I thought this score was fantastic, best of the year!

Indeed. Darker, and perhaps fair to deem less accessible than the FOTR score and it has a real regal note to much of it which just seems to perfectly fit the events in the story. It's rather overwhelming to think that all involved are saving the best for last.

Yup, sorry I couldn't get online to tell you guys before now. We got stock in on the 11th - but that was my day off, so I bought one yesterday (12th). As I promised myself, I've only listened so far to the bonus track, but it's really wonderful stuff & I'm glad I waited for this version. This week is going to be agony, having it & not listening to it. I shall be strong!
The only wee worry is how the extra track is going to play after TTT score proper... I have a feeling I'm going to have to jump up & puch stop everytime Gollums Song finishes.
NP: Primal Scream: Vanishing Pt (well, I can't listen to one track all week, can I?)
