Looks like we're getting the typical wall to wall "rock music" soundtrack on this film.

I read in the L.A. Times that some group (I forget who) is contributing a song with Rob Zombie. Oh yeah...I can't wait. (Yes...that was meant as sarcasm.)

So Fox isn't taking the "high road" that "X-men" and "Spider-man" got. (Granted, "Spider-man" did have a couple of useless and annoying rock songs in it.)

    James,

That's just the song album. Don't worry - I'm sure that Graeme Revell's score will get it's own release....

That's all well and good, but the use of the rock songs in the film is what scares me quite a bit. If that is the route they take, as it appears in the latest trailer, it will be a sad event.

You guys should download the song at the site - "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence.

The lyrics from the song denote a lot of mirroring with the characters of the film, and listen closely at the music (in spite of all the alternative sound). You can't tell me that isn't a Graeme Revell written melody.

Two months ago, www.graemerevell.com listed a piece of news that Revell was working with the guitarist from a band called Incubus for some of the score. I look forward to hearing the results, though I must admit I wasn't sure about Revell in the beginning. But if it truly is his music that's in "Bring Me To Life", then I for one will be pleasantly surprised.

Don't be too sure that a score will be released. Revell hasn't had much luck with any release or tiny releases (Pitch Black and Red Planet to name off the top of my head).

That group you mentioned collaborating with Rob Zombie is Drowning Pool ("Bodies", "Tear Away") whose lead singer was found dead in his tour bus this last summer.

What's frightening is that Graeme Revell is writing the score. I hope it's a hell of a lot more exciting than COLON DAMAGE and that the duduk is nowhere to be heard.

Mark Johnston should have hired Marc Shaiman. I'm serious!

Gotta say Marc Shaiman wouldn't be my first choice, but niether was Revell. My first choice would've been John Powell or Christopher Young.

But Revell it is, and I don't think he's going to do a bad job. For an interesting treat, go to the media section of his website and listen to the available full length cues of "Below". I was rather surprised. And those of you who hear and say it sounds like Crimson Tide better rethink that statement; it sounds nothing like it. It may have instrumentational similarities, but that's it.
