What a brilliant masterpiece this bit of music is. I first feared the lot mixes of musical styles, but at first it was like this with TITUS too, and it grew on me. NAKED LUNCH (just taping the movie from tv), is a brillant piece of work by one maestro Shore. I am curious, did anyone notice a slight resemblence to TAXI DRIVER by that other master Herrmann?

On CD, I tend to find this score pretty hard going. But I'm not a big jazz fan, and Shore is probably the composer who I can rely on more than any other to depress the hell out of me - moreso even than Carter Burwell. VIDEODROME is almost hypnotically bleak.
